  Mother Troubles

  my mother called tuesday night.

  as many of you know, i have chosen to stop communication with my family as of the beginning of this year.. my mother has called 4 or 5 times to talk, but i have not called her, my father or my brother or anyone in his family.

  all of them are witnesses of varying degrees.. i tend to go into a deep depression each time my mother calls.

  I am a JW however I am sorry about the way your mom makes you feel.

  I think they (family) should respect you for your decission and go about their business.

  Nope! I am not afraid to talk to any 'exs' as can see I am a member here:) Thanks for your politeness.

  We will have our DC in August (Guyana)-which I am looking forward to.

  Even though I agree that some ex-jw's know their Bibles and JW history better than JW's, I would like to say not all JWs are clueless.

  i would sincerely like to know what is so wrong with jehovah's witnesses.

  i invite anyone to post here.

  please use facts not personal opinions.. i am not interested in dates, the blood issue, nor the disfellowshipping issue since i am conviced that these do not prove that they are wrong.. i am weighing in to see if you as an opposer of jehovah's witnesses have the facts or not.

  I think that there are a lot of complexities to the 'many topics' mention here.

  Too many topics are being raised without any being fully answered or properly discussed.

  I would have enjoy it more if they were broken down and discussed individually.

  Take for eg Topic 'BLOOD' - then we can focus entirely on blood both facts and views. Yes, I agree facts is preferred but sometimes we can't help but getting personally involved.

  or should I start rolling the ball?:)

  it has oft been presented here that religion has been destructive to the utmost, an inhibiter and counter-productive in human development and civilization.

  there is always the other side of the proverbial coin.

  when you think about it, where would the world of science and history be if not for religious motivation?.

  yea Zero, Religion I think plays an important in our lives.In some cases it either brings out the best or worst in us.

  No organization is perfect...there will always be someone or persons who will degrade it.

  Religion is like 'knowledge with wisdom', without the later it is doomed.

  Would you not agree that even though, 'some of us' are pshycially mature...we are sometimes the COMPLET opposite in our mental capacity???

  Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that you have be well off to have childern... suitations have showed otherwise.

  Some people don't have a limit, they just don't know when and how to control themselves---and some who can control themselves just like being the way they are. Every action have a reaction and this affects not one but several persons either for better or worst.

  The more I think about this case...you have to be a little sick to be making childern all over the place, with little or no concern for the results or conditions being made by this imature action.

  That is why laws are in place-really what sense would it make if the court allowed him to continue with his actions. That shows a total lack of responsibility; he is not being responsible for his actions.:(

  I will leave this saying you make your bed you lie in it-we can't run from our actions; they are right there facing us.

  i find it weird that the jehovah witnesses disrespect other relegions by calling their's the "truth".

  by saying this aren't the wt's saying that there is no other answer and all other relegions are wrong.

  i also think it is disrespectfull the way they call house holders "prospects".

  Which meeting was the hardest to attend for you ?

  for me i think it was the sunday meeting.. just wanting to stay home and sleep in.. but i think the watchtower study was the hardest to sit threw... you had to have it studied before hand.. and highlighted.. then sit there and listen to it all over again..

  Sadly to say: I find our meetings (a testing of my faith) since for one thing, the few elders we have (really) can't speak properly. 2.
  They are not educated and mis-apply scriptures...that really sucks.

  I always make sure that I have a small pad and pen ready to jot anything that might not sound right....and research it. I really pity them; little education, bad English...I sometimes wonder if they realize what they are diong, the new ones will believe everything they say-without checking it out for themselves. And they are not the type that you can correct -they think that they are it. I know that we are far away from perfection-but that is no excuse. We all should continue to "improve ourselves", and not just remain the way we are.

  This! is where personal study plays a vital part.
  We only have to pray continually that things will improved-worldwide.
