Very nice comments. Some have had similar experiences as I have, pertaining to expired literature. Reminds me of something I learned about in recent months: It's called the B.I.T.E. model, It's meant to control all things listed.

I turned down an offer of re-appointment just before the COVID-19 shut down. It hasn't been 9 months since I stepped aside. My door to door was none existent, only reporting 4 hours from informal witnessing, meetings were sporadic. I'm on Zoom sporadically and most times with my video off (full beard). Two elders met with me and wanted to know if I was ready to "get back in the saddle". I respectfully declined. It is hard to fade. COBE called me last night to encourage me. Wonder what he wanted?

I'm reading Babylon the Great Has Fallen, God's Kingdom Rules, published 1963. This was studied years ago when I was about 10-12 years old. I wanted to just read some of the beliefs from decades ago. My wife wants to know why I'm reading this book. I mentioned just to read history. Her response? "You don't need to read that!" I'm also using the Diaglott and the Greek Interlinear, all WTBTS literature, when reading the New Testament and comparing it to the New World Translation. (had a C.O. that was doing the same thing) This doesn't sit well with her either!
I'm PIMO, former elder, She is very much PIMI. Old literature/light is right up there with apostate literature. Go figure.

This is an interesting question. I received an email from an elder asking for my carrier. It listed 21 carrier options. I thought it was innocent but now maybe there's more to it!? This is the message:
'I can text you congregation announcements and assignments if you let me know what carrier you use.'
If anyone has information on this, I would be interested in knowing if it's a way to harvest information. I answered the email telling what carrier I use and haven't got any response yet.

the reason that i ask is, in the two years on this forum and you tube, i've seen ex-jw's either drop off entirely or make fewer and fewer videos.
i know the emotional toll can be high.
is that the sole reason, or is it cost (video) or do you think it's external pressure (legal or family)?
