I have visited Vegas twice. It's a fun city and it has nice suburbs, nice manicured lawns in the area where we were once you get away from the Casino/tourist section. There are palm trees and mountains just a few miles from all the glitz. Some of the casinos have very good food at a reasonable price, drinks too. Their objective is to try to get you to gamble, but you don't have to if you don't want to.

Governing Body Update #7 is being played this week in place of the 15 minute part "Keep Training Your Powers of Discernment." There is a lot coming out about WT right now and the 8 Popes knew it was coming. They have delayed court cases in many places and now time has run out, it's either go to court or settle! WT does not want rank and file or even the elders watching what is going on. Someone mentioned that this could have the Streisand Effect. A phenomenon that occurs when an attempt to hide, remove, or censor information has the unintended consequence of increasing awareness of that information. I hope that it does have this effect.
P.S. I watched the 4 Corners documentary yesterday and I didn't hear any inaccurate statements!

Ezekiel's Temple Vision Changed
by IWant2Leave init was nauseating to listen to the book study the past week on zoom.
old timers, and elders who have served for decades took the change of the vision in ezekiel chapter 40 thru 48 without blinking an eye.
just drank it down.

Thanks Jeffro. It's good to know about that sight reviewing The Worship Book. I'll study this each week b4 the Congregation Book Study to get a balanced and accurate view of Ezekiel.
One thing that I do now and for the past two years, is to read the scriptures from another translation instead of the highlighted scriptures in the publications, which automatically takes you to the New World Translation. This is part of what helped me to wake up, seeing the changes that the Silver Sword (2013 NWT) have done versus other translations. When talking to co-workers about the Bible, I would quote a scripture, and they would say, "that's not in the Bible", or "that's not what that verse says". And after a short debate, I would look it up and even use the Diaglott or the Kingdom Interlinear, and what do you know, they were right. I used to think that the NWT was the most accurate translation. Boy was I mislead!

It was nauseating to listen to the Book Study the past week on Zoom. Old timers, and elders who have served for decades took the change of the vision in Ezekiel chapter 40 thru 48 without blinking an eye. Just drank it down. No questions asked and no critical thinking. Some were even laughing as they gave their comments about the new understanding. And of course the explanation was short on scriptural back up or proof. It's true that there is not a belief that a J.W. can have deep within their soul and heart that W.T. can't take away with the stroke of a pen and "new light!"
Now the understanding is that Ezekiel's vision is not the same as the spiritual temple that Paul talked about in the book of Hebrews, chapter 9. Why the change? I've started to read some of the older post hear to try to find out. There is more to come in the Book Study on this.

I stopped posting after reading that post too.
I will continue to check in to catch the latest news from the insane world of the Watchtower.
I have mostly enjoyed years of conversation and debate here, as anyone can see from my history. I hope some of my threads on WT doctrine and science have helped some.
I can't no longer be part of the irrational and hateful environment that has come to dominate this forum
This was Cofty's last post

i’m fairly new here, and i too miss Minimus.
Maybe we will meet somewhere, someday.
No one living today can say with 100% certainty where we go when we die! That’s why i made the above statement. If you’re in heaven Minimus, ask lots of questions. God doesn’t mind! RIP

Is the door to door preaching work not the primary focus anymore?
by pistolpete ina few months back, one of my uncles who was an elder, asked the co, why jehovah would allow the door to door preaching work, to come to an abrupt end.
this was when my uncle was starting to have serious doubts about the organization.. the co told him to be patient, and hang in there, because the governing body was on top of things and in time would explain what is happening regarding the preaching work.. my uncle asked; “what do you mean?”.
co said; “focus on the wt study articles in the coming months” .

JWs are bigger and more successful than the Mormon church
by joe134cd injust saw the following you tube video.
it’s 3 hours long, but thoroughly interesting.
if you want to save yourself 3 hours, basically the active mormon church is about 3 million.

Pistol pete, i know some sisters that would be upset for your rendition of the scriptures, it’s true though the large army has become large women!
Well, the bible prophesied this would happen
(Psalm 68:11) . . .Jehovah gives the command; The women proclaiming the good news are an army of large women.
