What are considered conscious matters in the borg these days?
by jam infor example, the type of job you have, what take place.
in the bedroom, college, blood, marriage mate and etc.. and is it a truly conscious matter with out any repercussion?.

Those are faux conscience matters except for college. College is a conscience matter, but you will never be "used" which is now a term that seems hilarious to me.
Real conscience matters are...
What cereal to eat (assuming no magic, draculas of the chocolate variety, or gluten)
The type of hair gel you use (as long as it doesn't have ingredients from the dead sea)
That is the end of the list.

Yeah part of the harrasment is having to explain themselves to the CO. Don't shy away from texts or calls. Take them, respond posatively, and say there is no need for them to come by and thank you. Treat them with respect, and don't go into it.
Ann gave you great advise a couple pages ago. TAKE CONTROL of your situation. Your wife is agreeable now, but honestly make sure to keep her in the loop. They will definitly come after her to find out whats up. I know this from experience.
The CO coming over is just too tempting. He won't make it out of there without you saying too much. So don't do it. Tell them you aren't available but hope they enjoy the visit. THATS IT.
This is the tipping point on your fade. If you indulge them too much, it will not go well. Right now they don't have anything, and you will be removed as a servant by the CO wether you like it or not. So let it happen, don't go to the CO visit, and just be respectfull, and let them know you are great, focusing on your health and never felt better. If they ask when you plan to go back to meetings, just say you don't know. if they ask why, say I don't feel comfortable discussing that with you.
This is how you do it. Eventually you will just be impossible, and they will give up. Especially AFTER the CO leaves. Even better, take the wife somewhere this weekend for a little outing. That way you guys aren't even home when they inevitable try to "pop in".
Hiding from grown men isn't good for the soul. Don't do it.

Big Shake-Up Among Jehovah's Witnesses
by JW GoneBad ini heard that there was a recent (january 2013) big shake up on the west coast in orange california.
i think it is a kingdom hall on taft street in orange that has a double hall.
anyway, i heard that there were 10 to 15 disfellowshiped, others given public reproof and several congregations broken up and new conregations started as a result.

I know people in those halls. Haven't talked to them in a while. I will try to at least get enough rumor to where we can extrapolate some truth.

Wow! I have missed quite a bit. I love that the argument of generations long since past that many would prefer to forget, somehow yields relevence to current conflicts.
I honestly believe it is simpler than that. The islands are a hop skip and a jump from Argentina. They really seem to belong to Argentina from a reasonable standpoint. The residents however wish to remain British and that cannot be ignored. The dubious claims of various nations on the islands throughout the years aside, a compromise would be fairly simple. Like most things in Argentinas history, when things are bad, you whip up the national fervor in an attempt to distract. It is exactly what happened in 1982, where both Argentinians and British both died.
So now, witht he current (and constant) economic issues creating a grumbling majority, the nationalism is whipped up about the islands in order to distract.
Britain could easily defuse this and do the "right thing", by drawing up a treaty of sorts that allows a shared revenue and cost sharing of the mineral and oil exploration. Argentina could give full support, the islands would remain British, Argentinians could freely visit and use it as a territory, and they could carve out special excemptions.
If the Argentinian President refuses any sort of compromise, than too bad. The international support would rest squarely with Great Britain (except for Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and Venezuela), and they could keep the status quo.
It simply cannot be overlooked that reasonably, the islands are related tot he Argentinian mainland. Its not like California would allow the Santa Cruz islands to be part of Mexico if there were enough Mexicans living on them for them to want to be part of mexico.

So...why is taking blood essentially viewed as unforgivable by the WT?
by sd-7 inbeen hearing about this 'grey's anatomy' episode, and while i didn't see it, it brought up a question i wanted to throw out there, albeit a long-winded one, as is my usual nature.. the fact that people would rather die than take blood, as if...if they take it, they're doomed for sure to not make the new system--it doesn't make sense to me.
people both in the organization and the bible stories are forgiven for heinous crimes, murder, adultery, child sacrifice, everything up to and including denying jesus altogether.
(let's not forget child molestation and rape, apparently...) so why does it seem like this one act is presented to jws as one that's never to be forgiven?.

Blood is a big one for me. The few people I have had the conversation with basically say, "so the word abstain means nothing to you?"
So that is the simple mind you must embrace to make sense of why people feel so strongly about it. Going into what "abstain" actually meant in context of the dietary measures they were referring to, means very little. They focus on abstain. So the attention has to be drawn to wether since that is the word with weight, if taking fractions, organs, donating blood for testing and what have you, is actually "abstaining" from blood.
In a true sense of the word, none of us can abstain from it......we all have it!
In fairness, the episode doesn't really accuarately portrey JW's stance. It basically states they feel only prayer is needed. It was a little silly. Anything that brings attention to the ridiculousness of it is fine with me. Patient dies in the episode so that is good too.

Music you never noticed was ...
by nibbled ini have friends in very cool jobs.
my world interacts quite often with music stars, and i have interesting conversations.
for instance, i was talking with the members of animal kingdom, and asked the lead singer about the lyrics i picked up while listening them perform for the group a few minutes earlier... i felt stupid because i hadn't realized the name of the song, and only had caught a few lyrics... he wrote of mephistopheles.

Mumford and sons already wona grammy, and are probably on their way to two. They are pretty huge. Their semi-faithish lyrics aren't that big of a deal. Most people still believe in God active in some way shape or form in the universe. So I don't see an issue.
In addition to that, they are kind of an extention of older folk from the region. I would say it is hard to have folk music without some kind of faith in it.
Now Creed...........there is just no reason for them whatsoever.
May I suggest a little known R and B singer named Cody Chesnut.

Hey Charliklo,
You probably realize not all of that British produced timeline is without dispute. Please understand my poition is not that the UK should pack up and leave. But as with most things, it isn't that black and white.
Since we live in the 21st century and colonies are frowned upon as a vestige of a former time when those that could traverse the globe dominated every piece of land they saw, I think it would be the honorable thing to do to seek compromise and work in a mutually beneficial way.
I could move a bunch of Mexicans to Catalina island off the coast of California and they could then say they wanted to be governed by Mexico and that Catalina was in fact at one time Mexicos. So what? You think that would fly?
The UK could realize that a long time ago they claimed some islands that weren't really theres in hind sight. Then they could say but the inhabitants wich to keep the status quo. So why don't we create a partnership in exploration of the mineral rights and all that jazz, in order to preserve peace and settle it once and for all. If Argentina gets in a huff and demands the islands be theres (which is entirely possible), then forget it. They can say they tried. :)

The Guardian hints strongly at why cults like Watchtower get off so lightly with the UK press...
by cedars inthis article explained a great deal.... http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/shortcuts/2013/jan/14/cant-read-scientology-book-uk.
now i know a main reason why it is so difficult to get uk newspapers to pick up a good jw-related story.. it's not just because jws are a tiny religion.
after all, scientology is arguably even smaller than jws, and they get more media exposure than we do.. it seems the extreme libel laws may be predominantly to blame for the watchtower's successful evasion of newpaper and television reports in the uk.. .

Hard to beat the cost of free lawyers. Fighting things in court is rarely about right and wrong, it is about how much money are you willing to spend on atttorneys. Everyone knows it, but nobody can do anything to fix it.
Free speech can be killed in the name of religious freedom. Its kind of hilarious.

Chariklo,
Thank you for that. While I understand what you are saying, most long standing conflicts such as this have multiple stories and angles at which to view them. The British has had an administation since the 1830's you are correct. Argentina claims that the Spainish held it prior to the british, and that they received it when they became independant. There is confusion as to wether the Portugese, English, French, or Spanish "found" it first in the 16 century. The spanish and english both arrived and left, claiming it as they went (as as was the custom of annexing land at the time).
Since we live in a more civilized time, and it makes sense that the island 300 miles off the coast of Argentina should belong to it, I would say it would be the right thing to work with Argentina on a mutually beneficial arrangement if they are willing. The nationalism of Argentina may not allow them to do this, and the UK does not HAVE TO do a damn thing because the resident want to be British. They have access to GB, europe, and a social safety net. If they became Argentina, they would have none of that. So no duh that they want to be British. :)
It belongs to the UK. End of story. But they can do the "right thing" and share the resources in a way beneficial for all, without releasing their claim to the land.
Recognizing annexing land claims on the other side of the world made centuries past is kind of beyond the 21st century. This is why the UK needs to find a solution if Argentina is agreeable. It is entirely possible the Spanish landed first. Their plaque still stands, as does the english one I believe.
