(oops! Should read 'Falklands' of course!)
Who's going to be the next ones to claim them?
Says it was Uruguayan before the Spanish gave anything to Argentina.
Wonder what Kirchner will make of this. ('Nothing' is of course the answer.)

I'm not sure where the "Flakland's" are located, but I know the Falklands belong to the United Kingdom of Great Britain!

Some good men died protecting the Falklands but there comes a time when decisions need to be made. Setting aside the gas/oil ownership claims what is to happen to those people living there? They can't be protected from invasion forever, can they?
When my Grandmother had her stroke I was doing 70 mile round trip every day to look after her. The cost in petrol was huge and I was exhausted as I was a single mum and worked as well.
As she settled down we discussed what the future held and as she was so far away and it was a drain on me keep travelling up, we decided the best course of action was for her to sell her home and buy somewhere closer to me so I could look after her. She was sad that she would miss her neighbours but they could not care for her the same way I could.
My point being, open negotiations and have the "Flaklanders" sell up and come to the UK.
The clue is in the flag.
Thanks for not highlighting my typo and making me feel stupid
(and Cedars, for you to be correct you should have said "the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" )
Of course, now oil is on the agenda everyone will want a piece.
I wonder if LasMalvinas has heard of this new claim.
I'll have to wait and see!

I think Flaklanders sounds so much better than Falklanders
I don't see Uruguay listed here.

Yes they can and should be, those people are British. It would be better to spend money on them than the thousands of foreigners who come to our shores each year to sponge off the British taxpayers.
If we don't protect the Falklands at what point do we draw the line? Shetland Islands? Orkney? Isle of Man? Channel Islands?
Or do we wait until some foreign warship comes sailing up the Thames?

Countdown to "Las Malvinas" showing up on this thread....10....9.....8....7.....
Let's start a pool. Let's set the over/under on her first post to 700 words. Any takers?
Besty, that's an interesting diagram. Do the initials "UK" somehow stand for Uruguay? If so, it looks like the Uruguayans DO have a long-standing and well established claim to those islands!
