Your cost and suggested donation are way off. It cost them less than a dollar to make a bible, and I am sure the flock isn't donating over 20 per if they donate at all.

I think their heads are already exploding with possibilities....so they won't be worried about turning you away. Unless your guys are just plain good ole fashioned jerks.
Honestly though, this is just an overhyped mess made to make everyone feel "special" at the same time. Anything that creates excitement they will continue to do because lets face it, its just not exciting. Bad things are happening to the religion. They are face to face with many of their expiring doctrines. So this is a way around that.
Its an old business tactic if you will.

breakup guilt
by fresh prince of ohio ini recently broke up with my girlfriend of four years.. she is 40 years old, with health problems, financial problems, little family/friend support, and facing an uncertain future.
i gave her some money.. the guilt i am experiencing right now is absolutely anguishing.
she had very, very high hopes about our relationship and loved me very deeply.

Oh man. I admire your heart and feeling of responsability and honor. I really do. Only you truely know your relationship with her. I still can't help but wonder i you are really doing her any favors. Maybe you are like that last little bit of help that needs to go away before she get herself together and gets a beat on life?
You think offering her ongoing financial support will "help" her? Maybe pay for her to take a trade or something. Teach a man to fish right? But you are going to just make this worse rather than better. I understand your intentions come from a good place, but you mgiht be doing more harm than good in the long run (you will grow old at some point after all and be that way for like 20-30 years).
Only you know for sure of course.

AGM is not streamed live, but a download.
by SyntaxError1974 inthere have been several posts where individuals are asking if it is possible to hack into and watch the agm as it is streamed to the conventions.
i say it is not streamed live like many are assuming, but a recorded download played for the audience.. why?
a live stream has many possible points of failure.

I don't think its being sold as live. Only, liveish. I also doubt it is being censored so would not even ploat that. It only makes sense that it is seen by more people over the weekend. It does the desired effect of getting everyone on message at the same moment.
I do wish we could get it unfiltered. I don't mind peoples notes, but I wouldrather see it unfiltered and draw my own conclusions. Hmmmmm....maybe a transcript?

Donations aren't coming in from Western Countries: more confirmation
by Julia Orwell inin talking to sparky the elder today (http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/263862/1/an-elder-called-me-hes-waking-up-and-knew-id-understand-nice-for-him-to-have-a-friend) i found out he did the accounts for our congregation for years.
he said very rarely did the congregation meet its expenses without some well-off brother chipping in a few grand here and there.
the elders would also make up the shortfall.

SYntaxerror -Thank you for that. I once helped with accounts as well, but times were a bit simpler then. I too basically noticed that the hall had a coupel of wealthy benefactors you may say. Did you ever wonder how this sister knew to write a check for 20K? Well......it isn't uncommon that the wealthier (or percieved wealthier), be actually ASKED for this donation.
I live in a nice house. We have a mortgage however that is less than my old rent, and the place was a steal because it was a wreck before I got to it in the foreclosure crisis. Simply put, we got lucky with a decent investment (we were due). But because it is nice, (and would normally be out of our price range), I was asked CONFIDENTIALLY, if I could help the congregation with its bills which after a long talk ended up being to the tune of 5K. I told them they got the wrong guy!

So lets see. Hmmmm. A poster that sees herself as a feminine version of a fictitious writer substituting Julia for George states that she has the inside track on the financial health of God's Organization. Her mole? An elder that supposedly did the accounts for his congregation. An evidently spiritually weak elder at that considering he's relaying confidential talk to someone inactive. Ha! Might as well post letters from the branch on Reddit! Even if George Orwell, oops I mean Julia posts truthfully, than this elder is basically a Judas or well on his way to becoming one. Even if what Ms.Orwell states is true, the organization's longevity is a testament to Jehovah's blessing. Just another example within a long list of circumstances that God miraculously provided for His people.
1) Why even comment on her screen name. its just a screen name.
2) Her mole? You mean her friend who is an elder that spoke to her? What is wrong with him speaking to his friend? Spiritually weak for what reason exactly. Is there a scripture he is in violation of?
3) Then he becomes a Judas? Good grief that is quite the judgement from a far.
4) If she is telling the truth? The last nail is always when you realize that the stuff online is largely true. The things you have been told are lies, are many times accurate. What that means to you is up to you, but don't shoot the messanger, just decide for yourself.
5) Which miracle are you referring to? As already pointed out, if longevity is a sign of blessing, you have some explaining to do. JW's are one of the newest religions out there. I am also curious as to this long list of circumstances.
Hey we are willing to have a civil conversation with you, but you came in here all heated. So chill out and lets talk. You have already taken the first step by allowing yourself to read here.....and to be angry.

How to break up a "friendship" with a JW who is (still!) trying to convert me
by Sofi inok, so i never had the courage to tell this people i was df'd a long time ago... just kept "studying" here and there because i felt lonely and they were so persistent.
last time i saw this woman, we had a heated argument (was more like a monologue) where i told them why i think the wts is wrong on the blood subject.
she is still sending me texts about when is she going to see me again to "study" (bringing in the "closer": a regular pioneer we both know).

Its not a real friendship. You already know that.
I would say for her sake and the sake fo the pioneer, have them over and talk. No need to tell them you are DF'd. That isn't like a thing you have tatooed on you. You are just you. Some stupid religion said you shouldn't be one of them anymore. That has nothing to do with you. You cannot BE disfellowshipped. You are too busy BEING you. :)
I would say go over blood again. Stay on task. There are some real ringers in there.
Here is my favorite. White blood cells are forbidden by the society. Albumin a blood protein, is ok. They both are dissolved in the plasma. Albumin makes up much more of the blood (almost double) than white blood cells. Why are WBC's forbidden, and Albumin for the Christian to decide? Who determines that and why?
Its just mind boggling.

by jwleaks injw leaks has published court documents relating to the removal of the body of elders in the menlo park congregation of jehovahs witnesses (california, usa), the seizing of control of millions of dollars of congregation assets by watchtower bible and tract society of new york, and the related rico enterprise civil lawsuit against jpmorgan chase bank et al.. backstory: in 2010 the watchtower bible and tract society of new york seized control of millions of dollars of prime real estate assets belonging to the menlo park congregation of jehovahs witnesses, california, by forcefully removing the body of elders and dispersing the congregation.
money invested by the congregation was also removed from their bank accounts by watchtower representatives.
those within the congregation that objected to this were threatened with disfellowshipping.
