  years ago you read my horror stories about being raped by a jw.

  i was nine years old when this took place, now the man has been getting all his works in order.

  what do i do to stop the seventy-year old pedophile from getting his position back?

  BA,

  I am sorry for what you are going through. You need to reel yourself in a bit. I don't say that to be cold, but honestly, you are holding some pretty important cards. I keep on hearing you say they are going to label you insane or mentally incompetant. Well first of all, everyone here has been labeled that by them by default. So you must be in good company. Second, who cares what they label you. You cannot be disfellowshipped for "gossip" by telling people what happened to you and who it was that did it.

  The craziest thing about this, is that if for some reason you got disfellowshipped for warning others about this mans behavior, you would have the law suit of all law suits. The branch will not let that happen. If you have this on record, went to the police, and there was a comitte meeting (you said he confessed it right?), then you have all of the ammo.

  So now it just depends on what you want to do with it. We here would love for you to make a big splash, tell the media, wait until he is appointed, get the branch involved, and just go nuts on them with your emotions in control and a goal.

  But maybe that isn't what is best for you. Maybe you need to make sure he isn't apointed, tell the police what is going on, and be very firm with the brothers. If the elders are coming by asking you if you would be hurt if he was appointed, take their calls and let them in. Tell them yes. Show them stats on these things as being recurring when someone is messing with a child. Explain JW's are already in the news left and right about these things, and why would they be going through such pains to make sure he is in a position where he could do harm?

  Don't run from it. Run to it........if you can stand it. If you can't, then find a way to cope, say your peace, and decide what it is you really want. :)

  If you were to protest an Assembly what would you put on your placard ?

  what would be the some of the most proficient and perhaps strongest message.

  to place on a placard to show as the people arrived at the venue.

  I like blowing up what respectful observer had above including the photos.

  I also like the idea of people going in full JW gear with badges, and wearing bags on their heads with signs that hold quotes regarding how you can be disfellowshipped simply for believing or thinking differently.

  Always use their own quotes. I really like the bag on the head idea. It would be powerful especially with people still "in".

  BA,

  So if you made the accusation, it was on record. I woudl immediately write the branch, explaining that you could not beleive your hears when this person who commited this crime against you, was about to be in a position of authority in the congregation, especially in light of various events currently in the media.

  Be very firm that you consider this a danger to young people in the hall, and if neccesary will raise a stink locally about it. Regardless the man is not above reproach, and does not qualify to serve in this capacity after raping a minor. You still deal witht he emotional trauma, and your life has been affected. This would be the ultimate slap in the face.

  Something along those lines. Copy the local CO and DO, but NOT the local elder body. You have nothing to lose right?

  What part of the world are you in? Is he currently a servant?

  this morning i get a frantic call from my sister (who has been baptized 1 year and one month and never attends meetings anymore).

  in tears she tells me that this morning my father picked her up in the car and told her that i was am apostate.

  that i no longer loved jehovah and that i was going to be disfellowshipped.

  Now is the time you can do the most good. Its when the shock people experience and the initial hearing of it makes them want to know "why".

  Why......is an important question. Why.....is a question JW's don't ask. Why.....is something you CAN answer. So use this time wisely. After you are announced, the influence goes down quite a bit.

  I really....morbidly......would love to hear tape from a meeting with three guys at your house. I mean honeslty it would be a riot.

  a good friend of mine invited me to a party after her meeting on sunday.

  i told her i was not going any longer and she doesn't care.

  she also let us know that no other witnesses would be there.

  Joe....welcome man. I wish you good luck with your wife. I am working on mine, and I think good things are happening.

  I think for me nothing hit me quite like blood. It just made too much sense that it should at LEAST be a conscience matter. That led me to enforcement of belief through disfellowshipping......despite the fact that whatever was taught could later change.

  Once I was that far down, the dissonance in my mind was loud and aggrivating. I take no joy in lying to myself. I think most people attribute it to arrogance or me thinking I am so smart. I try to tell them its not that I am that smart, its just that I won't follow "dumb".

  Hey CAA,

  Thank you for sharing your story here. The ups and downs and all of that. Hey if you get a sec, we would love to read your letter. 6 pages or not, its like "apostate porn" for us to be able to see someone tell them to stick it when some of us cannot yet do so.

  One good thing that comes from this all getting out and overwith, is that you can tell people what you really think. Try to be as kind as possible, so that hopefully one day they see that the organization is the real apostate here.

  I also wonder, while your wife is inactive, is she also going to DA? Won't that still have people coming by or calling? She sounds like she knows how to tell people to get lost.
