100%? Well over a year. 50%? Maybe 2 years before.
I had to plan a proper departure.
i continue to be stunned by posters reporting on the convention, lamenting the convention, complaining about going in serve-us and meetings, and yet continuing to participate in these activities.. a simple question.
how long have you done these things, fully knowing it is absolute bullshit?.
i couldn't handle it for more than six months before i basically outed myself.

to me af's.
see below for more on af.
"prominent" (lol!
Ann....... *mind blown*.
Wow. ed and I used to communicate pretty regularly. He was in my mind at the time, a loyalist. That is absolutely amazing. He was in the middle of his studies back then however.
I tried my hand at touchstone one time (went by the name stepstone, and argued with Sulla along with a gentleman from southern Cali whos screen name escapes me). He was a good guy.
Newtonian is a good egg. He really keeps it up doesn't he?
B-net is actually what woke me up. Vinny over there bullied me into taking a harsh look at blood. I was just a "study" at the time. :)
So now I think I know why there are no active JW apologists out there......they are no longer active JW's!!
I mean....
Stafford
Heinz (from the hub days and jehovah.to)
People like Dave at scriptural truths and DLJ/Antioch here
People like Ed
I am sure there are more. Wow, just wow. I believe the society has basically given up on all attempts at apologetics from the margins using the elite in their corner. I wonder if Hal still presides over that once a year meeting of the more learned apologetic type guys that the society at one time gave its blessing to have.
Problemaddict (of the anonymous nostalgia class)
i have been really enjoying the new series of videos on youtube by "watchtower examination".
the dude is wicked smart.
just curious if he is a member on this forum?.
link?
Quick! Someone bake me a cookie! STAT!
it seems some inactive ones and active jws are hardly ever bothered by the elders while others are constantly called, checked up on, etc...... what gives?.
There are three factors, and these three factors can line up two at a time and create different scenarios.
1) Type of elders - Do you have the ones that won't go visit an old lady but if they see someone have more than one beer they jump in the eldermobile and are out for blood? Or do you have elders that are generally lazy.
2) Are you inactive and nobody knows Why? Or are you inactive and people know you have "questions".
3) What was your level of activity? Are you worth going after, or will it embarrass them and the hall?
Just my opinion of course. My situation is that while very well known, I had one of the uber zealous former CO elders to contend with. He wanted to destroy me, but I had enough friends around to basically be able to be left alone. He still wanted to come at me, but during one exchange, his ignorance was exposed in front of others. In other words.....I put myself ina position where they can't do anything, and its too much work to come after me.
Basically they would love to, but they don't want any of this. :)
wow.
the bible really is something else.
i believe i am becoming athiest.
Hey Sarah an dObjective truth,
If I am being honest, I find myself leaning further and further away from the bible being anything other than an ancient peoples record of events told from their perspective. Is there good in it? Sure. I have no problem with Jesus. However, there are too many perfectly logical questions without answers....and because I no longer have a personal stake in believing anything in particular....I usually just use my brain.
That leads me to believe most of these accounts are nonsense, or have nothing to do with God.
As far as prophecy is concerned. There are a couple I need to look further into. I need to decide on the evidence for and against Danile being a book written after the fact. Job speaks of the earth round, the bible discusses the water cycle in ancient terms, and the instructions given to isrealites do show knowledge of bacteria and an understanding of the human body. (your body produces blood clotting factor (K), the same day a child was supposed to be circumcised).
So those are things that are worth answers. Of course......why did God create a dick with skin on it, if he just wanted it cut off?
Sooooooo yeah. There are alot of cons, and a few pros.
wow.
the bible really is something else.

My faith in the bible is almost a mist at this point. Pick your poison.
Flood
Lot being raped by his daughters and while his wife was turned into table salt for missing her home, the rapey twins have nothing coming.
David counts everyone when Jehovah doesn't want him too.......17,000 die
Abraham having to be willing to do the thing God could already discern he would be able to do in order to prove his faith?
How about Jacob duping Esau out of a "blessing", which could not be undone and was apparently cool by God even though it was a lie....and he hates a lie?
I mean seriously, why did I ever believe this stuff. It reads like a less interesting version of Greek Mythology to me now.
the old guys sided with hobby lobby today in denying birth control coverage to its female employees based on the owners religious views.
intact- is viagra for the guys.
funny how the far right evangelical owners of hobby lobby didn't want to touch that one.... read judge ginburg's scathing counter argument and opinion.. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/13pdf/13-354_olp1.pdf.
Well that wasn't very happy.
With all due respect, you have no concept of what i am or am not involved with and to what degree. You are plodding on about "keyboard muscles", when all anyone is doing is having a discussion.
JW's don't vote because they are "no part of this world". They feel that when they elect an official, and that official does things that they don't like or that jehovah does not like, they become responsible by association. (see blood guilt association).
How insane is it to think that?
Now we have a corporation that does not want to provide insurance (they don't provide birth control....only insurance), that will cover certain things they do not like for religious reasons. So they are essentially taking the JW reasoning point to an extreme degree. That they are help responsible by providing insurance that through that insurance could possibly provide something that violates their beliefs.
I say....grow up. If you believe in a reasonable bevolent creator, then you can rest assured if you provide an employee with insurance which you legally may be required to do at a certain point, than if the employee uses that insurance to abort zygotes every chance they get....then that is on them.....not you.
Interestingly, I know 5 or 6 JW's on the IUD thing that is one of the 4 things they took issue with. Very interesting.
i had been hearing about a food supplement that has shown to be a promising therapy for fibromyalgia or chronic fatique syndrome, a food supplement called d ribose.
i tried it and was impressed with the results, so i have been taking it for the last three months.
unfortunately during this time i have also had intestinal issues, which have gotten progressively worse, to the point it was debilitating, also nausea, dizziness and a mild headache.
Lisa try a whole 30 "diet". Its a good way to get over the sugar. You can still have fruit but maybe a serving or two a day.
You stick to grass fed beer and no hormones etc...
No dairy, beans, rice, grains, soy, and more.
THIS is what helped my sister with the inflammation to where she could even jog again!
There is a community, support, its easy to do (in that it isn't hard to understand), and you have nothing to lose.
30 days is nothing.
incredible.
absolutely incredible.
so i asked, " isn't it 100 years since 1914 ?
Think about the balls you have to have to completely gloss over the death of thousands reversed by "new light" with...
....well Jehovah will resurrect them and see they are in a beautiful paradise.
Its almost phycotic.
