  CO Visit this week....

  so, we are meeting our new co this week... i wonder if he'll be as glory hungry as the last one and the one before him and the one... well you can get the idea.

  too bad we didn't volunteer to feed him .

  that makes me wonder...why do they receive so much glory and attention as if they were some type of celebrity?

  Ugh, I had to go outside right now as the meeting is taking place. All the brothers on the platform are so scared and nervous it's almost funny and sickening at the same time. And we didnt even get the actual CO. Just his emergency puppet, I guess he is sick or something

  I've never really have tried to get to know any of them, nor have they tried to get to know me so I guess we are even.

  Our last COs wife was really hot but you could tell she knew that so she would look all snobby and just smile and say thank you whenever they complimented her. Like saying oh yeah I know I'm hot ZZZHHHH! And the CO would just love to metion her name over and over from the platform.

  I'm sorry but I have nothing nice to say about any of the COs I've met. And it's true about how the attendance goes to the roof at the meetings and at the FS. After the guy is gone, everything goes back to normal.

  Giving to charities

  as for me, i do give on occasion and when i am able to.

  Hell no!! I've seen how some of the funds are mismanaged and spent on everything else except the purpouse of the non profit charity.

  The last CO was soooo boring. Somehow I ended up meeting up with him and other brothers-before field service and after the service meeting mind you- and all he did was to stare at his cup of coffee. So much for spiritual building conversations with the flock!

  I tried to initiate conversation but I guess he was too good to talk to the rest of us. I ignored him after that and I enjoyed my coffee until we had to leave. Oh and by the way, by the looks of his gut I know coffee wasn't the only drink he enjoyed.

  Too bad we didn't volunteer to feed him and spend our precious time getting to know him... oh wait, all the previous COs never even shook my hand so who cares lol

  That makes me wonder...Why do they receive so much glory and attention as if they were some type of celebrity? Everyone goes nuts when these men come around every six months. And then all the pioneers feeling all high and mighty because they get to have a special meeting with him.

  I can't stand the whole frenzy everyone gets into this time around...

  So, have you ever met a CO that would just love to feed on this type of attention???

  My JW In-Law Celebrated my Bday...sort of.

  new member, first post.. so, my bday was last monday, to my surprise my wonderful jw mother-in-law brought me a big ass cake (chocolate, my fav) on sunday along with a nice cologne with all the accesories included.

  all this just because!.

  hmm.... i wonder if she was secretely giving me a bday gift??

  Service meeting topic: Masturbation

  one of my strangest memories of going to the kh was when a young- maybe 18-20, pimply young man got up to talk about jhvhs view of masturbation during a service meeting.. of course, it was impossible to think about him not masturbating.

  i was just hitting puberty and found the whole thing very uncomfortable- i think my dad was even critiquing him (what is that called when elder gives the feedback).

  looking back now i can see that to publicly condemn masturbation, especially when a young man is delivering this admonition, is- well- hilarious.

  this article also briefly questions whether it is really safe in the modern world to engage in this form of proselytizing.. it's certainly interesting to hear an outsider's perspective on the repetitive nature of the preaching work, even though jws would argue that this is an isolated case.. .
