  Just changed out the summer quilts.

  i just washed all my summer quilts and put them away for the season.

  i brought out the thicker and heavier winter quilts and put them on the beds.. i love patchwork quilts and have a couple of heirloom ones actually made out of the scraps of old family clothes.

  my mom can point to a fabric and say," oh, that was a dress of mine when i was little," or, "that was my mother's apron.".

  just a few years ago, any man that slapped a women was considered a piece of shit.

  today people are are paying and cheering to see a man knocking the shit out of a woman.

  what feminists, social warriors, and gender recognition fighters don't realized is that their actions are actually causing the world to revert back to the days when the world treated women as property, second class species, with no rights whatsoever, whose only value was a sex instrument for the male species.

  In my memory of the video news footage that I saw as a pre-teen the man who lost was deeply embarrassed that he lost.

  Read up more - it was rigged. He beat the top female player in the world with ease in an earlier match and many believe he threw the King match to have his gambling debts to the mob erased.

  Riggs had originally challenged Billie Jean King, but she had declined, regarding the challenge as a fatuous gimmick. Following Court's loss to Riggs, King decided to accept his challenge,[28][29] and the two met in the Houston Astrodome on prime time television on Thursday, September 20, in a match billed as The Battle of the Sexes.[6] The oddsmakers and writers favored Riggs;[30] he built an early lead, but King won in straight sets (6–4, 6–3, 6–3) for the $100,000 winner-take-all prize.[7][8]

  The ESPN program Outside the Lines[31] made an allegation that Riggs took advantage of the overwhelming odds against King and threw the match to get his debts to the mob erased. The program featured a man who had been silent for 40 years for reasons of self-protection who claimed that he had worked at a country club and heard several members of the mafia talking about Riggs throwing the match in exchange for cancelling his gambling debt to the mob. The program also stated that Riggs' close friend and estate executor Lornie Kuhle vehemently denied Riggs was ever in debt to the mob or received a payoff from them.

  In the 2017 film adaptation Battle of the Sexes, Riggs was played by Steve Carell, with Emma Stone as Billie Jean King

  Who's ever had any luck warming water by heating the air above it?

  Alternatively, has anyone noticed that air tends to be heated or cooled by large bodies of water?

  The CO2 in the atmosphere is at one of the lowest levels it's ever been in the history of live on the planet. Vegetation and tree growth has accelerated as a result of the increases, but the earth is a long way from being as lush as it was when CO2 was way, way higher.

  some news outlets are saying that biden is "prepping the battle field for an attack on american soil.

  they have seen several hundred migrants armed, entering the united states and since there are thousands, the border patrol doesn't have the resources to confront them and stop them.

  biden has blocked any news media from taking pictures or reporting this to the other states.. this, along with dividing the country with vaccine mandates, lockdowns, tearing down the economy, indoctrinating the young people that the united states is evil, a military general willing to tell the enemy before hand what the usa is about to do, and now considered a hero, trying to de-fund the police in all states.. what do you all think?.

  I think "planning an attack" is conspiracy (doesn't mean it can't be true, but is there any real evidence?)

  But the attempts to have more authoritarian control is the modus operandi of the left every damn time. They don't want peaceful law abiding citizens, because they want a "mess" that they declare themselves the only ones capable of sorting out.

  The messes they make continue for generations in shit-hole cities that can then never get rid of their democrat overlords who get rich while controlling the entire game.

  People only ever watch womens soccer once every 4 years, when there is an olympics, and if there are no other events on that timeslot.

  They can't and don't sell merchandise, they can't and don't attract large crowds of ticket payers - they are not worth the money, it comes down to basic economics.

  Why? Nothing todo with gender - it's just not exciting, they lack the skill and commitment of professional male players.

  Same reason large crowds don't go to watch the local pub team play and why they aren't paid multi $m deals too.

  I also don't think something actively stupid and wrong has to be labeled or associated with left or right political ideologies

  Except that this is a 100% leftist ideology. It's all part of the goal of undermining the traditional gender roles, to dismantle the family unit and bring about disorder. Also, to destroy anything that other groups value.

  My 20 year anniversary

  after being a jehovah's witness for 52 years, today marks my 20 year anniversary of being out of the borg!

  i turned in my letter of disassociation on september 18th 2001. it was read to the congregation on september 19th, my wife's birthday.

  of course the years have had its difficulties but it has also had many wonderful experiences and epiphanies.

  since covid have forced many stores not to be open 24 hours a day like wal-mart, etc…i do have one 24 hour kroger near my home.

  if you want to know where it is, message me but i might not tell you if you have not been here long enough or i feel that i can’t trust you yet.

  do you have 24 hour grocery stores near you?

  Are 24 hour stores really that important? We've always managed to plan shopping trips that correspond with normal opening hours ... even when they do happen to open 24x7.

  Where you live is a little like picking the "true" religion - how do you know you've picked the right one? You can't. It takes at least a year or two to really know an area, and there is a cost to changing, so you are limited in how many you can try.

  Some people will tell you that their city or neighbourhood is the greatest ever but they can't know the other places that would be better, so everything is subjective.

  What's more important is to be adaptable and accepting to make the best of wherever you are at the time.
