Question for this forum???
by spectromize inhow many here still believe the organization is ahead of any other religion as far as teaching truth from the bible despite some of the wrong teachings that we perhaps have???.
i will be the first to answer in saying, i still believe we are ahead of any other religion for the present but it can change.
only time will tell wether the organization wants to adjust to some of their mistaken chronology and teachings.

Hi Spectromize
DO you get any error messages when you post the reply or does it appear to have worked but just not show up ? -

I'm in the UK so it will be months before we get it
The rumours are probably started on purpose to build up publicity for the film -

My Journey
by Frenchy ini suppose we all think of ourselves as unique and we are in so many ways.
what i fail to realize, i guess, is that we are far more alike than unique.
every now and then i will reveal some little fear or quirk or dream that i have only to find out that someone else has experienced the same thing!

Hi Frenchy
I think your comments are spot on.
JWs and exJWs can both be equally unwilling to really discuss things and see things from anyone else's point of view. -

Oh no...I'm really sorry about that.
I'll have a look to see if I can improve the posting system to let you retry incorrect password without losing the post.
Take care! -

Thanks for the info Seven, as I said it's not something that I've ever come across before.
I presume it's not that common...or at least not common here in the UK ?
I hope your hospital visit wasn't too serious BTW and that you're feeling better ! -

You're just far too cultured for me !

What's Sacred, what's not?
by Frenchy inlet's put forth a question here that should provoke some interesting responses.
please feel free to give your thoughts on the matter inasmuch as that is the purpose of these boards.
we (jehovah's witnesses) do not accept blood transfusions on the principle that 'blood is sacred'.

Yes, sorry Ben
I didn't mean to seem to condone the personal inuendos and character attacks which there is NEVER any excuse for.
I have found that people tend to resort to those when they have a weak argument and want to divert attention away from it (very like politics isn't it?).
You know they have the ultimate weak argument when they just point out spelling mistakes in your posts -

Anyone care to enlighten me on what *exactly* speaking in tongues means ?
I must have read the expression hundreds of times but I've never really though about what it actually means. -

Caytf / Ben / Frenchy
I know it is very easy to get emotional over topics like this when both sides hold very strong but very different opinions.
Don't forget that things aren't always done in a consistent fashion everywhere so it is possible for two people to claim that the society behaves in completely different ways and both be right - each person has a different and unique experience of things which determines what they see as beeing 'the norm'.
I hope you're both willing to 'agree to differ' and continue sharing your thoughts with us !
