Just a thought...
In most of the publications that have pictures of people in the new order / new system / paradise earth - why do they have clothes on? Not only that, but they usually wear their national costumes !
I guess the practical reason is that if everyone was naked then the WatchTower would be classed as soft-porn and could only be sold from top shelves...
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Christmas Greeting!
by RR ina few years ago i met a women, former jw from queens, ny, she had left the society for various reasons, one of course, was the 'lack of love' within the congregation.. she started her own greetings card company for xjws, called great crowd greetings.. in going through my stuff, [the never ending, some day i'll get this basement cleaned up] i came across a card she sent me during christmas 1996.. on the cover it reads:.
"i bring you glad tidings ...".
on the inside it reads:.

We're having a great time here - can you believe IT'S SNOWING ! (We normally only get rain).
The kids have got new Thunderbirds toys and some other bits and bobs are are so excited they've been running round the house like loonies with them.
It does get easier and it does get better although I guess having young children helps. It would be nice to be able to go and visit someone but my JW relatives are ignoring us (thanks Mum) and I don't really know my non-JW ones. Angharad's mum and dad are coming to visit us tomorrow though.

by larc ini found some interesting statistics, some of which you may know, that indicate that the wtbts is in decline.. 1. in the twenty years from 1970 to 1990, the rate of yearly increase dropped from 10% to 6%.
in the last 10 years it has dropped from 6% to about 2%.
since the world population growth is about 1.5% they are only growing at about 1/2 of 1% faster than the population.. 2. in 1999, there were 21 large countries that showed a decline.

the remnant

during the last ten years, the number of the remnant has not changed, which means that as fast they die, they are being replaced with nebies.

There is also the possibility that people partake as a kind of protest. I know I've thought of it to annoy a few people!
It's kind of like why the memorial attendance keeps going up so much even when the normal meeting attendance goes down - it's the only time when all the ones who have left can come back and see their old buddies.
I'm sure there are more people who have been JW's than are JWs. There is quite a high churn rate so when the numbers go from 4 million to 5 million it doesn't necesarily meant that 1 million have joined. More likely 2 million joined and a million left. Something like that ! -

There is an excellent site for JW Statistics at http://www.jwic.com/stat.htm which has graphs and trends etc... for many countries and regions.
Well worth a look.
