Yeah, I always drive at or slightly over the speed limit if there is a cop behind me late at night - nothing screams "stop me, I'm guilty!" more than driving overly cautiously and under-the-limit when there is no need.

Derek Chauvin - The Right to a Fair Trial
by Simon inanyone following the derek chauvin trial?.
if you are actually following it, not just listening to the media, you will likely realize that there is a huge gap between what is going on in court and what is being reported in the media.. if the trial was fair, i think he should be acquitted.
there is plenty of reasonable doubt about the cause of death (his dealer doesn't want to testify because he could be guilty of 3rd degree murder for selling him a fatal amount of fentanyl) and even doubt over whether the officer even had his knee on the guys neck or did anything counter to what they were meant to do as per policy.. but is it fair?

Are You Confident With Covid Vaccines and What Officials Say Is The Right Thing To Do?
by minimus inmost of my friends have gotten the vaccines and are quite confident that it’s just what the doctor ordered.
i’m not confident with dr. fauci.
i don’t like the fact that the makers of the vaccines are not held responsible if someone taking the vac develops an illness or even death.

What is 30 million divided by 500000 deaths? The ratio is pretty much consistent around the developed world. It’s actually worse in places like Mexico and Brazil.
So what is your angle then?
My "angle" is using accurate language and statistics.
You say one thing and then measure another. Specifically, you talk about the Infection Fatality Rate ("Covid kills about 3 out of every 100 people that get it") but then give Case Fatality Rate figures (more like "how many people admitted to hospital with it die").
https://ourworldindata.org/mortality-risk-covid
The CFR figures were higher early on and have come down dramatically as the healthcare industry stopped killing people and "Cuomo's death rampage ran out of victims" or at least, those living longer due to milder flue seasons in previous years which amplified the early numbers.
But the number of people who get it and die? That is no-where near 3%, it's more in the fraction of a percentage, 0.01% area.

You'll never convince me that there isn't something going on against black people.
Maybe check the statistics to educate yourself then you'll understand.
I still remember and evening I was out with a family of black friends. We were leaving a convenience store and got pulled over for 110% nothing. That is unless you consider driving too carefully to be a problem. This dude literally was driving like a 70 year old man. The police didn't even offer up a pretense of why they pulled him over.
If I was a cop, I would pull them over - someone driving like a 70 year old man who wasn't screams "stoned".
It's lacking detail but a car pull of people driving slowly round a neighbourhood could easily be people up to no good. You make a judgement of the police and the reason but without the complete set of data - how many break-ins have happened recently for instance? Has there been a recent report of a crime that fits the people in the care? So many potential reasons, but for those who define their entire existence and every interaction and life event being due to their skin color, then of course that is what they think is the cause of everything even though it isn't necessarily the case.
I've been pulled over by police when doing nothing wrong. How is that possible? I'm clearly white after all. Was I being discriminated against somehow or was it the police just doing their job?

Vaccine Passports: THIS Is Where It Leads
by Simon inthis is a good watch.. i agree with it 100% - the people pushing for everyone having to carry id are the ones that have shown over and over again that they can't be trusted with people's information.
the tech companies want it because they would be able to link online tracking and information logging with people's real-world activities.
the government wants it because they would have control over people and movement.. both should be chilling to anyone with half a brain.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uggvgke0n8o.

Now, we had all kinds of restrictions in place during the Spanish Flu 100 years ago and they have all been lifted. Name a restriction that hasn’t been lifted and affects your life today?
Why? No one is claiming that it is solely things related to health restrictions - you are creating an absolute straw-man.
The point is that governments are quick to extend their powers but always slower to limit their powers. it's a constant one-way street of people's rights and freedoms being eroded which is why there is a risk to blindly allowing it, especially if it's for dubious value.
And especially at the behest of tech giants who have repeatedly demonstrated that they abuse people's information to make money.

Their motivations are probably more complex, which does not change the damage they do.
Their motivations are not really complex.
They have been force-fed a constant diet of victimhood and resentment and that they have been disadvantaged and have a right to "take back what they are owed".
The reality is that their lot in life is almost entirely of their parents and their own making.
Poor life choices lead to poor lives.

Please provide us with a single example of a right that was been permanently lost in the past that was originally done in the guise of a public health order.
I didn't say it happened due to public health orders. The fact is that governments use emergencies to grab powers, the electorate allows it to happen because "emergency", and then the powers are kept and misused.
There are many examples of the police in the UK misusing powers originally intended to prevent terrorism against people who are clearly nothing todo with terrorism. The legislation was intended to be temporary but becomes permanent and used against the citizenry.
If a government gets special powers when there is an emergency, at some point they will create an emergency to get the special powers. At the very least, they will take advantage of an emergency to extend their powers and avoid oversight.
Is the US capitol under attack? If not, why are there still troops and fences deployed? It sure would be convenient to a government not to have to deal with demonstrations and detractors wouldn't it?
People who have simply criticised politicians online have been visited by armed police. Why? Who called them? Under what authority or law?
You can chose to sleepwalk into a fascist state if you want, but some of us chose to pay attention.

It's because they are fundamentally criminally inclined opportunists. They don't give a shit about someone being shot, hundred are shot every week by each other, what they do care about is having an excuse to take what isn't theirs and acting as a mob gives them cover.
Remove the constraints of law and order and people show who their true selves are.
They should be shot.
I wonder how many people would need to be shot to put an end to this?
It happens now because they know the police are going to stand back and do nothing and that encourages it. That's why it's become regular as clockwork and expected.
Once it was clear that there was a different response going to happen, people would change their behavior.

Seems like he cared more about the people than the government:
Prince Philip: You've got to see "the consequences of dictatorships" and "the philosophy that individuals are there for the sake of the state."
"That seems wrong to me. It seems to me the state is there for the sake of the individual."
