I think people make too much of the "XYZ helped me leave the WTS". The reality for most people is that they were already starting their process of leaving, and started looking for information. Sure, the information was useful, for confirmation of their choice, but it wan't equivalent to being picked up by a helicopter from a battlefield under gunfire. It's more like someone handed you a leaflet as you walked past ...

Don't run back to the mall to hug them, and think they are your friend. They are doing what they do to help as they can. But some end up doing it because they miss the "position" they had in the WTS and want to reproduce it, thinking they should have some equivalent position in the exJW community.

There is now a cult of personality, and ironically, the same personality that if they went back in time would not really have helped them leave, because they would have disgusted them.

If you leave, YOU did that for yourself. Be proud. Go live your life, wasn't that the point of leaving after all?

If Watchtower or JW lurkers are reading, we are not all sexually deviant as Lloyd has insinuated. Many of us have left and continue to lead pretty moral lives regardless of being in Watchtower or not. The "worldly" people are not all drug addicts, sexually immoral, drunkards etc, as Watchtower insinuates.

This is a very good point. Does this help or encourage people to leave? Or does it tell them that the WTS is absolutely right about everything, that all they have told them about the people who leave is correct?

No, not all exJWs are like this. Not the majority, not even many. It's not normal, and not many people do this. Most of us who left did it because we couldn't abide dishonesty, corruption and seeing people being treated badly, not because we wanted to wallow in it ourselves.

The people who treat their wives badly when they leave are the same people who treated them badly when they were in. The people who fail to be decent and honest were already failing to be decent and honest when they had their JW badge on. Taking the badge off didn't change them at all, it just removed the cloak of assumption, where they benefitted from the belief that everyone else had similar motivations to yourself.

This is all before we get to what this does to survivors of sexual abuse and mistreatment, who may have contributed to him and now find out what a low-life abuser of women he is. How sickening must that be?

OK, only people who don't spend donated money to regularly cheat on their wife for many years with prostitutes in multiple countries, including notorious sex-tourism destinations, can criticize him.

That book is one huge contradiction - a few books later and all that hippy shit is out the window and it's all judgement and retribution dialled up to 11.

Suit, shirt and tie

i always hated suit, shirt and tie and wondered why men of all walks of life should be forced to wear these uncomfortable clothes and spend the money on them.

it should be remembered some of the worst people wear them, like creepy joe, putin, dirty corrupt frauds in business, law etc.

and of course al capone.

I can't remember the last time I wore a suit and tie. I don't even when I'm going for an interview (which I rarely bother with nowadays, it's all remote stuff).

I HATE them. It's so antiquated, uncomfortable, and gets in the way of focusing on your work.

It's been pretty optional (not done) in IT for many years though.

The world now is upside down. Perpetrators of crimes end up being viewed as victims while the real victims are viewed as oppressors, debt is an asset, incompetence and crime is rewarded, ... everything is totally backward. We're in clown universe and we never realized.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him continue. He has no shame and his followers apparently share his lack of standards or concerns for women so as long as they keep putting their hand in their pockets for him, he'll keep taking it and justifying his actions.

Shameless, narcissistic, sociopaths have no remorse and no sense of guilt at the harm they do to others. As long as they get what they want, they think the world is great.

Normal people can't live with themselves even for far lesser slights they do to others.

Yeah, he can't be in something like that, it undermines all credibility. Think about the TV show he was on some years back, I think some of it talked about how girls / women were treated in the organization. What has his presence now done to that? He's shat all over everyones hard work.

Thailand has the dubious distinction of being the world capitol of child sex tourism and child prostitution. These kids are kept in utter slavery through drugs and intimidation. It is a living hell for the most innocent among us - children. If this is his thing, then ANYONE ever watching his videos will be contributing to his VACATIONS and CRIMES against humanity.

Yeah, who know - maybe the real full story has still to come out, but regardless of the ages of those concerned, I think there is a good chance that people who visit prostitutes are actually guilty of rape. If they are doing it because of desperation, coercion or human trafficking, then you're effectively a rapist. I don't care for anyone's views trying to defend it, it's an abominable existence for millions of girls and women.

Real men put effort into their marriage and can please their wives - they don't need to pay someone to suffer their fat face in front of them.

I feel so sorry for all the females who have suffered because of him.

This was one of the most bizarre parts in the video. Someone made a comment about him grooming a 14 year old and instead of denying it, he starts ranting about how the exJWs tear people down and don't support him enough.

How difficult is it to categorically deny something? And what are people meant to think if you don't?

This was a textbook case of how NOT to do damage control, it was just terrible and he made himself look worse than if he'd just issued a statement and an apology. But he couldn't resist the opportunity to get publicity and an audience (and make more money from it!).

Did Kim confront Lloyd before he made the announcement or after? Did Kim tell Lloyd that I will post the truth on social media if you refuse to shut the community down? Why didn't Kim make the announcement after Lloyd decided to return making videos?

My understanding is that Kim gave him advice that he should step away from social media, but he refused to. She and the producer then quit, and issued the statement. People have to do this because otherwise you're seen to have been supporting it.

I don't believe that only they knew, I suspect they were told because it was going to come out. It would be inevitable - you can't be doing those things and it not come to light eventually. But regardless, as she said, people who donate money have a right to know what that money is used for, because any decent person would object to it's use to perpetuate and enable abuse of his wife and prostitutes.

I hope she knows she did the right thing, and doesn't get any nonsense for it from the crazy Lloyd zealots who really have just picked themselves a different, sleazier, messiah. The one thing I agree with Lloyd is that some (not all) exJWS are fucked up because heck - someone admits to doing all that and they still want to support and donate to him, what is wrong with them?!

I've often thought that some people in the WTS were prevented by the rules from being their true selves, and the WTS-made version was a much better version of them than the shit they really are.

ExJWs seem to have the reverse of the blinkers on that JWs have - imagining that anyone who leaves the WTS is now "good, and one of us". No, some people are scumbags, and if the WTS kicked them out or was about to, it's because they couldn't help being who they really were.

The WTS didn't make them who they were, the WTS contained them for a while.

Leaving the WTS or winning the lottery don't really change who someone is deep down, it just reveals their true personality, allowing them to live their real lives without constraint or the limitations previously imposed.

Some people are the same good decent people, with a decent moral compass, who care for their wife and family. Some people ... well, they have nearly always already revealed their true selves even as a JW in how they behaved and how they treated people, which is true in this case if you look at his history objectively.
