Soon this thread will surpass your dwindling Patrion donations and I'm sure you will be a very angry little boy when that happens.
Shit, do I have to send him a plaque or something?

His atheism has the same roots; if there is no god then there are no moral standards.
Is this your personal opinion or just how you perceive Evans justification of his abusive behaviour?
I read it to be what Lloyd uses as justification. I think there are quite a few people who take their rejection of a religion with typically conservative moral values as justification or even reason to live opposite to those values.
It's an easy argument to show that humans have come up with better moral codes than most religious texts have.

What is the new book going to even be about?
I think the title may be "From Bethel to Brothel"

If somebody made a channel that summarises the conventions in about 10 to 20 minutes it would be much more successful. You might even get active JWs watching it because it would be easier than watching the real thing. Faders could watch it as a cheat sheet so they can pretend they watched the actual convention in conversations.
This is true, but also highlights that all that's really happening is these people are giving the WTS message further reach. They think they are "anti" but there they are, rebroadcasting it. I don't care that they add a little criticism - usually it's all been said before already. There is rarely anything new, the point of WTS broadcasts isn't to impart news or information, it's the repetition of the beliefs and they are simply helping with that.
What I think are more useful are the videos I've seen where people have practical advice on life issues related to leaving the WTS. These take more time to do though as you can't just "wing it" by playing a 3 hour video and pausing to add some comments to it (that every exJW already knows).

Are x-Witnesses so desperate for something to justify themselves that they cling to this man?
There is a degree of this. A lot of people prefer to have their ears tickled rather than hear truth.
Something that often highlights it to me is if you voice any fair praise of the WTS or give them credit for something. e.g. maybe the upbringing had some benefits and wasn't all bad.
Some people just can't bear to do this. They don't want an objective view. They want a constant diet of "WTS bad, grrr!!!" and of course it makes them easy to manipulate and someone to churn out that content with one hand out asking for money to enable it.
I have an opinion
Great video. I hate the resort to comparing people to JWs or Elders or whatever it is. It should not be tolerated unless someone clearly is demonstrating some blatant JW / WTS behavior.
People use it for all manner of things. Don't like seeing freaky rainbow adorned men waving their genitals in front of children? Oh, "you just haven't let go of the JW thinking" ... erm, no - I don't wan't to see perverts grooming children and being applauded for it!
These people that think you have to live "opposite life" to somehow prove your exJW credentials are deluded and dangerous IMO.

What's going on with Emma Raducanu?
by LoveUniHateExams inso, emma raducanu was knocked out of wimbledon yesterday.. she won her first round match, and lost in the second round.. i wasn't expecting her to win the whole tournament, but i did kinda hope she would make it through the first week.. so, what's going on with her?
is she not fully fit?.
or maybe her body is not yet ready for the full pro circuit?

She's young, she's had a recent injury (I think it is tough, even if it isn't a contact sport) and let's not forget she's British so probably has more weight of expectation and pressure on her now, and especially at Winbledon, than when she won the US seemingly out-of-the-blue.

Roe vs Wade Overturned by US Supreme Court!
by Simon ini know there was a leak a few weeks back, but this really does seem to have come out of the blue.. the anomaly was the original decision.
it clearly had no basis in law or the constitution, and was a flimsy, ridiculous ruling.
plus the whole thing was based on a fraudulent case in the first place.. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-61928898.

"I can't be guilty of murder because people die all the time" has to be the weakest defence anyone could ever use.
Sam Harris seems wise until you listen to what he says, then you realize he's a fucking idiot.

No one really knows who you are, unless you surname is actually "76"
Unless you know the person you're asking, why ask any one person? ... and a random person at that (not that Kim is a "rando", but you may not have been so lucky).
Usually it's best to ask a question publicly, so there's no chance of someone taking advantage (either direction) and you're anonymous if you don't go blabbing your identity.
