Sandy, that was the other song I was thinking of........... I always think of my grandmother and when I left her in her bed at her house, I had to say goodbye, I didn't want to leave, I knew it was the last time I would see her as I had to fly home. I remember crying in her bed with her, I remember leaving the room and seeing her cry, too. And I heard that song after she died, way after, and had to pull off the freeway and ball my eyes out. Every time, EVERY time, I think of her and cry, even now there is a lump in my throat.

Do you still shudder at the sight of a Elder?
by kls ini remember so long ago i thought elders were like a god and would always make sure i smiled at them and put on my innocent act in front of them .
even being out of the cult it took me years to finally get it through my head that they are human and not a god as they themselves think.
then one day a jw elder came to my door and at that time i had a newborn baby that i had been up with all night .

"The Baby" by Blake Shelton
My brother said that I was rotton to the core
I was the youngest child so I got by with more
I geuss she was tired by the time I came along
She laugh until she cried I could do no wrong
and she would always save me because I was her baby
Worked a factory in Ohio
a shrimp boy in the bio
drove a truck in Birmingham
turn 21 in cincinatti
called home to mom and daddy
said your boy is now a man
she said I dont care if your 80
you'll always be my baby
She loved that photograph of our whole family
she'd always point us out for all her friends to see
That's Greg he's doin' great he really loves his job
and ronnie with his two kids how bout that wife he's got
and that ones kinda crazy but that one is my baby
gotta call in alabama to come on home to louisana
and come as fast as you fly
cause your moma really needs you
and says she's gotta see you
she might not make it through the night
the whole way I drove eighty
so that she could see her baby
my whole family had been weepin
by the time that I got to her side
and I know that se'd been takin
and my heart it was breakin'
I never got to say goodbye
I softly kissed that lady
and cried just like a baby -

JWs and breastfeeding past infancy
by rebel8 inmy jw mother breastfed my sibs so long they remember it.
one she stopped feeding when she went to kingergarten; i kid you not.
my mother justified it by saying moses' mother breastfed him until whatever age and the bible encourages it.

My daughter was 2 when I stopped. She was only nursing 2 times a day by then, morning and at night when I got home from work. Until she was a year, she only had breast milk, no cow's milk. She was eating solids of course after about 6 months. At 2, she was still such a baby (insert oooohhhhs and awwwws) then and she loved "reconnecting" each morning and at night and so did I.......it was truly very bonding. She still rememberrs that she used to nurse. I miss having her sit with me skin to skin like that and how quiet we could be and just look at each other.
Every once in a while, she asks me to hold her like a baby and she will lay back and drink her milk from a sippy cup like its a bottle......... still such a baby even though she just turned 4 the other day.

What would be on your 1.00 per day menu, and could you do it?
by SixofNine in.
imagine that you're givin the opportunity to win a substantial prize (say, 5000 dollars and a make-out session with angelina jolie or sam shepherd) if you can a) live for 60 days on one dollar per day, and b) retain your health better than other contestants.. ah, screw that, that's silly.
what would be your menu if you had to live on one dollar per day, and you could not accept free food?
