  Depressed Or British?

  I love being British, I love England and all of the British Isles.

  Yes, it rains a lot, which contributes to the country being very green and beautiful. Wales is astoundingly beautiful, and because the country is so small, Mount Snowden is only 1.5 hours drive West away from where I live (near Manchester, England). Just 1 hour drive away East, is York, a city surrounded by castle walls, with a magnificent cathedral. An hours drive North and I'm in the beautiful Lake District, home of the highest mountain in England.

  Being depressed is nothing to do with being British. The only case I can see is someone who suffers from Seasonal Affective Disorder, in which case they should buy a lamp.

  when one is a member of a group such as jehovahs witnesses, it is not possible to be aware of the degree to which personal freedoms that are normally taken for granted are lost.

  the mind-control techniques used by the watchtower society are by no means unique.

  My JW parent does not like it when I point out that the Moonies also believe the bible, and that they also think they're right, so why are they a 'cult' and the JWs not?

  Excellent observations!

  I recently asked 2 JWs how the field service was going. They both sighed and said that its "worse than ever". They said that any attempt to witness in the daytime was useless because noone is home, and the only time its "worth it" is 6pm in the evenings. They thought street witnessing was the way to go and said that the society were pushing that more.

  I know that I only went on service due to the pressure.

  Would you kiss up to your boss to get ahead?

  this is a question, that i am very curious about, wondering or pondering, thinking if some people would kiss up to their bosses to get ahead in the company that they were employed in; to get a raise, or a promotion, and then i'm thinking of the 'special treatment' clause if you had a personally relationship w/ your supervisor?

  i guess w/ my present day situation the thought has crossed my mind, and i can't help but wonder this...if one particular person is "using" me to advance his career.

  this is a jw issue, cuz this person is a jw.

  I wouldn't sleep with someone to get ahead, but I have often found that without much effort from me, I'm treated a LOT nicer when I look good for work. I make an effort and always try to look good: make-up, nice hair, etc. I smile and laugh. I think these things help in an industry which is mostly managed by men. However, it can backfire when it comes to being excluded from making decisions if you don't temper it with job capability and confidence. (the nice looking office girl or the craggy manager?)

  Ok Abaddon, Sorry, I didn't realise it was a joke. I thought it was strange of you, because you normally don't refer to foreigners as dumb. Plus, I had a shitty day and was touchy.

  BTW, I'm into tolerance of peoples views, not just religious tolerance.

  hello all... i came across this line of questioning many months on the inet so i decided that i would submit just this once to peer pressure and make a usefull contribution to the board.. here is the question... is jesus just "a god?".

  many of the regular inet surfers would have come across this line of questioning before so if you have you could just sit back and relax and read the replys.. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>.

  me: so is he a 'lesser true god' or a 'lesser false god?'.

  Hi All,

  I moderate a forum on polytheism at delphi. The subject of Yahweh came up somewhere along the line... I will find the sources and post them as soon as I can.

  I also have a book at home which suggests Yahweh is feminine, it is a book which discusses God as a Goddess "The witches goddess" by Janet and Stuart Farrar. I will fish it out and see what their source is for that assertion.

  Stop calling Britain, England.

  just a small request to you all.. britian is not england.. england is a part of britian, as is wales, scotland .a lot of what you may think is english is in fact welsh or scotish.. it is like me refering to the usa as new york .. if this carries on i'll have no other choice but to call the usa canada.

  If you could have one wish come true....

  if you could have one wish come true, what would it be?

  just one wish, that you would have to live w/ for the rest of your life, whether if be winning the lottery, finding true love, world peace, etc...what would you choose?.

  i know what my wish would be...i wish i never met him.

  I wish that human beings could be completely empathic. We would KNOW other's feelings on an intimate level and how our actions hurt them or make them happy.

  If we were forced to feel other peoples emotions, we would all work for the greater good rather than stepping on people out of selfishness.

  Oh and husbands wouldn't cheat and walk out, and fathers wouldn't leave their kids....

  Can you tell that last bit was personal... ?
