the basic 5 points of calvinism.
1. total depravity- all men are sinners.
we are totally corrupt and wicked.
Hey LT, where you been?

don't get me wrong, i feel comfortable alone.
but, how did i end up this way?
I was definately a social misfit...

if the wtbts and jws existed in the matrix and they all suddenly were unplugged from the matrix, how would they react seeing the "real world"?
oh yeah, anyone think agent smith could be a perfect "elder"??

I too have seen many parallels between the Matrix and the JWs. I'm so glad I'm unplugged - but there is no going back to "ignorance is bliss" now.
The matrix is full of Jesus references too, isn't it?
Thomas Anderson - Doubting Thomas, Son of Man. He doubted he was "the one" at first. Then he was "the one" and in the film was dead for 72 seconds (corresponding to hours) and was resurrected allowing him to save everyone.

this is a true story.
i do not bullshit about stuff like this.. everybody knows i'm agnostic, and most of you know that i lump wicca right in there with all the other religious beliefs as being just one more crock of lies, and have pissed off sunchild and sirona and a few others with my observations about wicca.
well, as i continue on my path of mellowship, i've mellowed toward wicca as well.
Comf: about the wands. Why is she suggesting "charging" them? You don't make a wand "magic" in my opinion. You make a nice wand and then the person buys it and charges it with his/her energy. If you put your own energy into it, that interferes with the person who comes along and wishes to charge it for themselves. I would not buy a wand that had been charged with someone elses energy....(actually I would not buy a wand ...LOL but thats not my point...). Aswell as that, it would be near impossible to use *your own* energy to charge wands en-masse IMO. Then theres the whole ethical thing....oh god(dess) its a nightmare. My Advice: make pretty looking sticks and sell them as wands....forget the energy bit. :D Actually I think there is much more of a market for other pagan stuff like Athames or Scrying Mirrors or things we use a lot like candles and incense.
LyinEyes - I'm glad you enjoyed the info. Mail me if you want to know more.
Fire - that book is a must-have for introduction to wicca. I can recommend others if you like I have quite a few!

LyinEyes:
"The craft" movie is basically nothing like the reality and the God they mention doesn't exist as far as I'm aware (in any pantheon).
Check out:

and if you are really interested in Wicca read "Wicca, A guide for the solitary practitioner" by Scott Cunningham which is one of the best wicca 101 books out there.

Hi
I'm happy for you about your new relationship!
In my opinion, if that was her first attempt at a working, she surely chose something dangerous to mess with. I simply mean that if you are going to start spells, starting them on someone else's heart is a biggie!
I personally steer completely clear of anything remotely manipulative. If the spell involves someone else, I have their full consent first. Be aware that she may be attempting to manipulate you into making a commitment. This is dodgy because there is the whole question of whether you are really *meant* to be together anyway. This could backfire in a big way. I hope it doesnt!
As far as the voice - I doubt very much that it was a goddess (although of course I could be wrong). Messages from goddesses or gods are usually extremely clear and/or meaningful. I think that this message may have come from your higher consciousness (basically part of you) perhaps influenced by what she was doing. The time between sleep and wake is a time when we are very open to such experiences....it has been proven that we hallucinate during this time. Don't think that because I mention hallucinate that your experience wasn't meaningful - I mean our hallucinations can have profound messages, too.
<<<<<<<She says the Goddess was blessing us and bringing us together so that we could heal each other (yeah, she's got some baggage, too). So, what's your take on it?>>>>>
My take on that is that she doesn't realise that healing comes from within. It is a bad idea to look to someone else for healing especially when that person needs healing themselves! Your baggage is worked out within yourself and then you are able to give to someone else. We all have our own lessons to learn - noone else can learn them for us!
How long has she been practising? I think your advice to her to seek out a coven is probably good advice. I wonder why she was so "blown away" by your experience. Most wiccans I know just respond very matter of factly to such experiences - in my coven we all have similar stories to tell.
