United Nations Getting A Little On The Side...
by messenger ini find it interesting the new found love the wt appears to have for the un.
in the two latest articles, july 22, awake and august 1, wt, they make reference to the good policies of the un and it's universal declaration of human rights.
as my memory serves, the harlot represents babylon the great (aka, false religion, aka, all religion except jw's) that commits fornication with the wild beast (aka, un representing all kingdoms of the earth) does this bring on a "new light" adjustment in wt doctrine?

Damn! Jesus had a BEARD! What do we do now?
by JanH inquestions from readers (w68 5/12 p. 86-8).
* when jesus christ was a man on earth, did he wear a beard?-k.a., u.s.a.. biblical evidence is the most reliable testimony to be found on this question, and a recent careful review of what it says indicates that jesus did indeed have a beard.. jesus, born a jew, "came to be under law" and he fulfilled the law.

I say to my mother, "There is no way to reconcile Christianity with treating a man differently, witholding portions of christian activity from someone, simply because he chooses to wear a neat, well groomed beard. Why would any reasonable man who had a beard, ever choose to become a witness, if he knew the extent of this psuedo doctrine?"
She has no reply other than to say, "I don't understand it either."
But from a company man's standpoint; "Jesus had a beard, what do we do now?" Whatever the hell the next guy up the line says we ought to. The buck stops there. The "buck" never makes it all the way to Jesus in the witness organization. Never.

Pedophile JC Analysis
by Amazing inthe title to this post sounds impressive, but i am not going to do to much here that is too technical, except to draw attention to the general scope of jw justice, and the shear battlefield of religious victims.
i will evaluate just the usa statistics.
many of my numbers are estimates, but i have reason to believe that they are generally representative of reality.. there are about 1,000,000 jws in the usa, in about 7,000 congregations.

Humble said:
If that molester was never disfellowshipped, that would bring reproach
Of course, if he/she is repentant, he/she should NOT be disfellowshipped. Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice religion.
And they may well be repentant, but that does not mean they are not a danger to children in the future.
Humble asked an interesting question up the line: "can a child molester ever be reformed?" That is what is SO chilling about the Societies response, especially the recent letter to elders in England. They are so cavalier about having these people in the congregation as elders/ms's. Yet, facts show that child molesters are almost never reformed. It may be that on occasion, a child molester is reformed to the point of not being a danger, but no one can say they know how to achieve that on a consistant basis. It is very rare, if it happens at all.
One gets the idea that Witnesses, especially the leadership, chalk it up to spiritual deficiency, ie. "he got better! why shouldn't he serve again?"
Of course, they chalk every problem up to "spiritual deficiency". That is why their system is falling apart at the seams. It doesnt' work, and it is based on silly, false premises.

I'm clueless here, but "jeg kan love 100% diskresjon" combined with phone numbers, can only be passing along some kind of sex chat phone line.
Thanks Kent!

Amazing, don't be discouraged by the words of these hysterical jezebels.
They have never been to battle, they have no idea what it means to look a person in the eye, and know that God may really want you to hand them over to satan.
They don't know what it is like to be approached by someone shaking and crying, upset to the point of collapse, over having sinned against God, and not only that, but also sinned against the whole congregation.
They have never had to look at a trembling human, yet keep your own human vision pure enough to see the stain of sin that will permeate the entire congregation if you don't do the dirty work, the hard, thankless work, of keeping the congregation clean from these besmirched ones.
I tell ya, we need to have a few parking lot hysterectomies. That'll shut the lot of 'em up! We'll give Lisa time to drop her current spawn first, then we'll be doin' her a favor. Her old man is black, and they breed like rabbits!
Seriously folks. Amazing told the story of how he acted in this situation. He did not say he acted correctly, in fact this whole series is about how incorrect the various "judicial events" are.
Did you somehow think that he had managed to overcome a flawed system, while he was (a long time ago) an elder? Did you think he was Christ for the witnesses?
Lighten up folks. We ALL believed that elders, while they would make mistakes and get things wrong, were the best scenario that GOD had to offer His congregation.
Having said that, let me just get this off my chest. I F****ing HATE elders. LOL, that felt good!

Sorry Humble, but beyond your misnomer, I have to say I think you are probably lying.
I may be wrong, but it just seems highly unlikely - the numbers you put forth. I've been in congregations in the Texas area all my life. If you aren't lying, either the spanish brothers are just better people than us gringos, or the elders have their heads up their collective asses.
For instance, your last one, 160 pubs, 2yrs, O judicial cases in that time???? That is unheard of. Just seems freakishly abnormal to me. Freakishly. Or fiction.
Oh wait, I just realized, re-reading your post. You didn't actually say that you served as an Elder, did you? Where you an elder in all these congregations? Becuase if not, then you shouldn't, and wouldn't, know of the judicial cases, at least much of the time.

Why DO they stay?
by BugEye inthere is much discussion of the "dumbness" of those still in and the reason that they stay.. some of the reasons that i have seen are:.
they want everything in black and white.. they prefer to leave thinking to others.. they are scared to be shunned.. they are just ignorant souls who are on the "opium of the people".
they dont want others to think bad of them.. while i agree that there is no one single reason and that everyone is different, i feel that the real reason is a much deeper one.

I think there have been many, if not all, of the "details" as to why JW's stay JW's listed in this thread.
And while I don't agree with Path on the stupid part, I do think that JW's who remain are ignorant and gullible. The odd thing is that they may not be any more gullible than anyone else, in other areas of life. I know I wasn't. Those who aren't ignorant and gullible, are most likely stupid and mean.
But those are, IMO, just details. The real reason people stay is GOD. God dammit all, it's about GOD! Good Lord people, praise Jehovah for the good things! May Jah have mercy on those people fighting in the middle east. God allows that, He will certainly allow some imperfection in the congregation. Lawd A'mighty! He has built the small one into a thousand!!! HE, He knows you have weaknesses, but HE wants you to keep trying, brother. His Son Jesus sacrificed His life so that we would have a chance at everlasting life in paradise (with others who also appreciate His and His sacrifice in our puny behalf - - can one have a puny behalf?). Jesus is ruling the congregations, you ingrate. Do you question his abilities. Can Jah not do mighty things with mere men? Hasn't HE and He always used and interacted with puny men, to accomplish His(s) will?
FEAR the true god Jehovah. Probably you will be concealed in the day of his burning anger.
Why do JW's stay? If Jah is with us, who will be against us?
Certainly not me.

NON Jehovah Witness to marry a JW
by inquiringmind ingood morning.
i am contemplating marriage to a long time jehovah witness.
i, myself, have no intentions of becoming a jw.

Hi Inquiring Mind. I want to be gentle here, because you are a complete innocent in this situation. But you do realize that a Witness who dates a non-witness (or "worldly person"), and still believes in the witness doctrine, is a person with a serious mental problem?
I know that sounds harsh, but I believe it is true. I don't mean they are crazy, but they may drive themselves (and you) that way. The two factors don't add up. One and one don't make two. It is not so much an illness as it is a imbalance, a state of being that DOES NOT WORK.
Think about the beliefs of JW's, and try to reconcile that with a JW being married (or even dating) to a non-jw. See the problem? It isn't like a Catholic being married to a protestant. It is more like Nazi being married to a Jew, lol.
Seriously. Things that should be balanced in his mind, need to be balanced in his mind, are not. I can't personally see how one could ever get away with that for a lifetime. People need to live what they believe.
Please share this with him. I would be very interested in his thoughts.
