Hey I know a 100% legal way to sheild 100% of any given amount of money from taxes - and no depreciating it over several years either.
Use it to hire someone.
interesting point of view and graphs.
is the us different today than it was in the 50's and 60's when tax rates were at their highest?
a lot of people agree that raising taxes pulls money out of the economy and will hinder job creation.

You are just arguing for the sake of arguing dude. You're not even in disagreement. You believe in paying your "fair share of taxes".
Please stop arguing points that you agree with. It's a time waster.

How do you go from this (statement A): " So, what you are saying is that I owe society for my success?...." (uh, yeah. it's self-evident)
to this (statement B): " .....That no matter what, I'm not paying my fair share to support the benefits I receive from society?"
No seriously. How can I have an honest conversation with someone that would go from statement "A" to statement "B" in two connected sentences? Position "B" has not been stated, hinted at, infered, muttered under the breath, or even thought-about-while-eating-vegan-pot-brownies by anyone at anytime, ever, on the planet earth. Until just now. By you.
I can only surmise that you just like wasting other people's time?

Quote: I just dont agree with the statement that "no one becomes rich alone"...
Oh please. No one becomes rich alone. It's an incontrovertible fact.
“The rich are always going to say that, you know, just give us more money and we’ll go out and spend more and then it will all trickle down to the rest of you,” Buffett, chief executive officer of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., said in the interview. “But that has not worked the last 10 years, and I hope the American public is catching on.”
“But I think that people at the high end -- people like myself -- should be paying a lot more in taxes. We have it better than we’ve ever had it.”
Warren Buffett has argued that he isn’t being asked to pay his share. He went around his office, asking people what share of their income they pay in income taxes. Buffett’s 17.7 percent tax rate compared a bit too favorably with the 30 percent tax rate paid by his secretary.

Warren Buffett is offering a hand if the federal government needs a few extra days to reach an agreement on the debt ceiling.
If a solution is at hand but misses the Aug. 2 deadline, Buffett said, Berkshire Hathaway Inc., the Omaha investment company he heads, would be willing to pay its next quarterly income tax early to help tide over the government.
Berkshire paid about $5.6 billion in corporate income taxes in 2010, so its quarterly payment would be more than $1 billion.

Buffett said he thought Democrats would do a better job in evening out the field for those who had drawn the unlucky tickets in life.
"We're going to have to get more money from somebody. The question is, do we get more money from the person that's going to serve me lunch today, or do we get it from me? I think we should get it from me. I have a lower tax rate, counting payroll taxes, than anybody in my office. And I don't have a tax shelter -- I just take the form and fill out the numbers. I think that's very wrong, and I think that if we're going to get money -- and we're going to need money; we are not taking in enough money at the federal government level ... it shouldn't be the bottom 98%. It should be more from people at the top."
"If you get $100 billion more of taxes ... from people like me at the top, it means you borrow $100 billion less out of the economy. Somebody has to come up with that $100 billion ... you're taking the money from the economy either way. The only question is whether you take it by borrowing or by taxes. And I see no problem in taxing people at the very high levels significantly more than they're being taxed now. And I might very well cut taxes even further for the people at lower levels."
i just met a lady that is just okay looking and she has a female relative that is a very hot celebrity.
i would love to meet her thru her.

Someone needs to post a "First attempt with your mom" copycat thread. I think Iamallcool is just the poster to do it.

I think you should "date" yourself, Iamallcool. You should date yourself really hard.
i have put together a video - growing up a jehovah's witness 1960 -2010. it aims to show the things a witnesses would be taught as they age over those decades.
it is 15 minutes long.
this is my first attempt at a video and it took a while to work out how to use final cut, so please feel free to make suggestions if anything should be changed.
Looking very good so far; I like the concept. I'll watch the whole thing later.
One flaw to point out though, I'm at 1:30 in and your music is stepping all over your voice; you should definitely scale the music back after the first few seconds - it's only there to set a mood.
another ex-dub was talking to me about nutrition and healthy lifestyle, natural remedies, etc.
i've been getting into it.. i came across dr. fuhrman.
he's an authority (board certified family physician).
Quote:
We saw his program on PBS. When those shows come on, we take notes.
Though not as detailed as we once did at the conventions, but just the basics.
That way we don't go overboard as sticklers do, yet can benefit from the tips offered.
It's easier to follow something when it's a principle applied to circumstances,
rather than a 100% "must do'", in every case.
Do not be decieved AwareBeing, while it is good that you take notes, do not fool yourself into thinking there is safety in just associating! NO, you want to be solidly in the center of Dr. Furhman's organization.

hah, I was just joking yesterday "you know those whacky health-food nuts who make weird smoothies and never eat normal food? That's ME now... I'm that guy".
But after one month, I feel great and I'm reversing all the cancer and heart disease that surely must have been ravaging my body considering the way I'd been eating for the past ten years.
Skeeter, you might enjoy the docu-movie that was playing in theaters about a month ago, "Forks over Knives". I came home from watching that and promptly got rid of almost all the animal products in my house and immediately started my plant based diet. In my case, I'd already read most of the nutrition research the movie was based on, and as well had long been uncomfortable with the fact that we don't just eat animals, we "grow" them in torturous conditions, and we ruin the planet for our children and ourselves as we do so; so I'm not sure exactly why simply watching the movie caused me to act so decisively on my personal diet... but I'm glad it did. Maybe I was just ready. Anyway, the two doctors who are the primary researchers featured are very straight-forward guys, they don't engage in hype or make wild claims.
But I did go ahead and blow it at a 4th of July fish-fry yesterday. :)
i was wondering if some of you can give me some advice in how to get over the fact that i feel so inadequate when trying to make new friends!!
since i left the borg i have only made about 2-3 close friends... the wts ruined my social skills and i am so depressed because i am afraid of the real world... i know i am ready to move on... but i dont know how.. i feel like i dont belong in there but i dont belong out here either... i am in social limbo.. and it sucks to have no friends.. .
when i was in i hated the weekends because i was basically forced to go to service, now i hate the weekends because if the few friends i have are busy w their families or partners i am stuck all by myself... :( please give me some pointers i feel super lonely!
Just watch the Micheal Scott character from The Office and copy his style of interaction; you'll be fine.
