just recieved the news a couple of hours ago, and have almost no details.
it happened today or yesterday, he took his own life.
Would an event such as this make the surviving JWs think about the organization's policy and start to ask questions now that THEY have to feel the pain?
I think more likely it has the opposite effect. Humans aren't very good at owning up to their own evil (much as they love labeling others as evil).

i work at a major airline in the in-flight training department.
i was sitting at the desk on the computer, i kid you not... writing the security (hijacking) curriculum for 2002, when someone came in and told me a plane flew into the wtc.
we all thought it was one of our planes.
I was in my car listening to the radio - with all the speculation about the size of the plane and accident vs intentional after the first plane hit. I suspected but didn't know that it was radical Muslim terrorism.
The instant the second plane slammed into the building I screamed, to no one there, "FUCK RELIGION!".
Then I spent the rest of the day till 4:30 pm trying to get word from my daughter and ex who were vacationing in Manhatten. Emotionally one of the hardest days of my life.

and i am finding the adjustment to the real world far more difficult than i ever imagined...i f...it has been about five years since i totally woke up to the fraudulant nwt and then all my other doubts i had carried for years were proved true as well.
but almost all of my few friends are exjw or slack jw's and i feel so isolated...my sons friends are mostly exjw too but not their gf's and they have way more normal friends .
how have you done at replacing lifelong friends and family?

I'm sure I would forget more screen-names than I remember out of all the people I've met, so I probably shouldn't try to make a list. I guess in a way that is good because it means I think of them more by their real names than by their screen-names.
But if I did make a comprehensive list, I think it would be over 50 names.

i received my nexus 7 tablet a week ago and have really been using it a lot.
i am still figuring what apps i need, like a file manager app.
one feature that is much appreciated is using voice navigation on google seaches with the native chrome browser- my wife and i were trying to find hotel information about a vacation site- and before she could finish typing her search query, my nexus 7 tablet had the information.
I think I'll probably get one. Did you compare the 7 to the Fire?

The story is NOT about whether she gave consent or not, or put up a fight: a women giving consent for sex is a modern concept projected onto an ancient story.
That may be true, but it still would be interesting to know what the original text implies.
