  the latest magazine has an article about being like noah- and the parallels between jws and noah are uncanny- it's amazing really!

  I guess the animals and Noah all just held it for a year. That must of been some party when they finally could let go!!!!! It was a sweet smell to JH

  but how we approach our jw loved ones may either free them...or drive them further into the organization and away from us.

  I think some just believe it really doesn't matter what we say or do. We cant release them because they want to stay captive. It is a known sense of security and I dont care if you hit them over the head with real truth THEY want to believe enough said.

  How long did it take you to prepare for talks or parts in the KM school?

  several years ago, whenever i got a talk slip i would get really nervous but accept it and work on it almost immediately.

  of course that was way back when i still believed it all.. now they gave me a #3 talk out of the blue about a month ago and i had forgotten all about it till the meeting night.

  i really thought about not showing up at all but at the last minute, i decided to go.. so when i got there the meeting had already started and so i just stayed in the back looked at the info, found 2 scriptures and then without any notes i went up and gave the stupid talk!.

  My father before he passed (God Rest his sole) said the watchtowers are nothing more than rehash after rehash. Smart man I am glad I followed in his footsteps. A four year child could give a part. Ask me to read a stupid outline at the meeting no problem with my mind closed LOL.

  Jam money I think for most in is not an issue. They are true cult members or they would post on here. It is an illusion of belief a sense of they are chosen, special a one and only person picked by god. They do and will die for this fake religion. Billions of people belive in their own version of god it is just this cult is especially dangerous.

  i was doing some reading on jonestown recently, which led me to some reading on the branch davidians and the heaven's gate folks.. it seems to me (and this is the part i want to discuss) doomsday or apocolyptic cults all share some common characteristics:.

  - secret knowledge of am impending disaster.

  - their survival if they follow the messages from a higher source that their leader receives.

  It is all basic human thinking. What human doesn't long for a greater purpose. A higher calling I am chosen by god. Why does North Korea do what they do? What about Muslims they kill themselves all the time and they are crazy but hey that takes alot of guts to blow yourself up I dont care who you are. Rational humans are very hard to find when it comes to a belief system. We long for a god to not feel none of this is for nothing.

  so i started a reply on the topic of "what's your status?

  " and it made me think about my df hearing (sorry i can't remember the exact term for what happened).. so i was fading, living in a different country, working & making rare appearances at my kingdom hall.

  i was flat sharing with a sister though.

  Thanks Pick I can finally laugh now too but at the time well I was fired by my JW employer and lost every friend I ever knew my whole life. I guess all I have is humor for that time in my life now and the peace that what I did was the right thing to do but yes the elders were hillarious LOL. Me not giving them power really blew their minds.. It really is funny but at the same time so tragic.

  2 sisters came to the door and since i dont live in the territory they dont know me and i got to say "i'm not interested" for the first time :).

  it felt awesome.

  didnt have a chance to engage in conversation as i was quite busy but it was a nice first for me..

  OK why not say lets have a bible study. Then wow you can really open there eyes and have a ton of fun. It sucks for me cause we never get that far after I say show me 1914 in your bible then well lets just say I rip them a new one and they always run off.

  Thanks Lois What was nice is when they finally came for me I was mentally totally out Read COC, ISCF and David Reeds books Etc etc. I know many here use the slow fade but it wasn't for me not that there is anything is wrong with that to quote Seinfeld. I felt back then and still do this is not only an evil cult that breaks up families my included also they murder children with their no blood policy and I feel that I had and have a duty to call them to account. If somehow we all here as a collective save one family or life I sleep much better at night.
