about 10 minutes ago a neighbor asked me about a friend who is a witness and said at one of their church meetings it said that they can only seperate under extreme abuse not just abuse.. i have not been to a meeting in a long time and i do not know aboput this or if it is true.
does anyone know what article this was in so i can print it and give it to them.
they are highlyy upset by this and i want to stoke the fire.

We both agreed if there was any abuse on any level the other is free to go...we both agree.
Thankfully, it won't happen as we are happily married but my wife, even though in, would never accept a "steve" slapping her about...
It's mental what the WT has done to people's thinking...when I was elder we had to deal with husbands hitting their wives and raping them and yet they would both seem happy at the next meeting...a pretense!

When I left the WT it was because simply of two things...they are not God's Channel today and more importantly the bible is full of sh1t...the flood could not have occured ergo the bible is a book written by man...
The natural conclusion that I've seen as a pattern to most JW's who "wake up" is that they conclude there is no god...
Until I see evidence otherwise I have to stick to that...

it was not my intention to write here anymore, but i found things that caught my interest, things that i feel to share in the hope of someone finds it interesting.. the core is that the wt surprisingly admits that what "we" believe in, is after all, only opinions (awake 2000 june 22 page9-11 "do not be a victim of propaganda).. anyone with a scan of thiese pages would make my day ;-) the questions/arguments below are built around this:.

jw thinking is an act of evasion.
the unstated premise that problems with the truth will go away if only you refuse to identify them.
thinking is an active process.. evasion is avoiding that action of active thinking which would create a positive difference.
Great post. I woke up 2 years ago...my wife is still in. When I presented her with a few bible truth's/facts she more or less stuck her fingers in her ears and told me that whatever information I had found that woke me up she doesn't want to know as she is happy knowing what she knows...
Even if is wrong I ask...yes was the answer.

the weekly tms bible reading assignment is not read, or not carefully read, by most of the sheeples.
it doesn't really matter, because the consideration of the bible reading material is one of the shortest parts on the meeting with a limited number of comments, and those comments are restricted to less than 30 seconds or you will get counselled.
over and over, the dubs are told to read the bible, yet the organization gives no real encouragement to read the bible by keeping everyone busy in the recruiting work and using relatively few scriptures in their "talks".. why?
4,000 males? But there are over 7,000 languages on earth at this moment in time...why did Jehoover confuse the 4,000 by creating more languages per male person...did hubby come home and could no longer understand wifey?

if a brother wants to reach out to be elder, yet brothers are holding him back for dubious reasons, can/should a brother approach the co and ask him what he needs to be done to be appointed or perhaps having a discussion along the lines of why the elders are holding him unfairly back.
anybody have any experiences along these lines?

I was appointed an elder at the CO requests where the BOE continually did not put me forward. The CO asked them why I wasn't and got silence...
What annoyed me the most was elders already on the body who resigned and then wanted to come back on but the body wuld have a list of issues with them...I mentioned in an elders meeting why are these issues not being mentioned to the brother whilst they were elders? It seems when they were elders you can do what you want but as soon as you came off and wanted to go back on you had to sort these issues out...
