i remember a little over 15 years ago, one of my first jobs at a grocery store, the manager was happy that they passed a new policy allowing them to grow a beard.
previously they were not allowed.
among the usa, i guess beards were considered not very professional still.
I did notice there seemed to be quite a few bearded attendants at the convention here in Scotland last week.
Indeed so did I but most we short, well kept beards and these were mostly MS folks, I wore a beard as an elder for a month after a holiday and we had to have a big elders meeting about it...I was the School Overseer so was on the platform every week so they were not amused when I went up with it...

I read the apology from Ray Franz in the 1980 WT and I must admit it is not really an apology...they just admitted the GB gave the impression that 1975 was the end...

In recent times, when new light has been released by the GB, it is not a refinement of the old light as CTR said it would but the new light makes the old light invalid or just plain wrong. If the old light is wrong who got it wrong?

since coming out of the witnesses, i have gone through a transformation in thought and in mind.
i started with the usual: i thought that jesus was god.
then i investigated more about the bible and thought that the bible was not true, given the many contradictions, failed prophecies, etc.. then i investigated evolution and read lots and now i accept evolution and natural selection as things that are true.. now, i need to make my dad rethink everything.
They just found a human tooth in France a few weeks ago dated 560,000 years ago...proof like that is not in the tens or hundreds but thousands!

a friend of mine is staying at a hotel next to one of the big convention sites this weekend.
yesterday she tells me one of the hotels had to be evacuated and the fire brigade called when the fire alarm went off.. it turned out to be a bunch of jw kids having a prank.
she had been speaking to the hotel manager who told her that this happens every year and only when the jw's come to stay!.
I saw at the Convention in Scotland many young women, married and unmarried wearing very revealing skin tight clothes...
I saw brothers wear skin tight suits, some in positions of authority...we arrived an hour before it started each morning and struggled to find seats with one person booking 40 odd seats for others which is not supposed to happen.
I got stood on, whacked by a wheelchair and had many attendants gossiping away ignoring help that was needed by others...
And they say JW's are the reflection of Jehovah...well he must be a right dick then.
