Do you find it hard to be around active JW's now?
by EdenOne ini do - actually, it's become close to unbearable.. and herein lies the paradox: i tried to fade in the illusion that i might keep contact with family and friends still "in".
was it worth it?
because not only most of them shun me anyways, but i find it almost unbearable to be around them, especially when the cult chit chat kicks in: every cute animal video clip triggers endless comments about glimpses of the future paradise and how "god did it"; those greasy praises to the organization and the governing body; the dumb awe about every jw broadcast and those cheesy music videos; the endless drivel against other religions when one knows perfectly well that we're no better than them; the endless flow of "experiences" of field service or spectacular conversions into "the truth"; the relentless congregation gossip; and so on .... i ask myself: is this why i am fading for ...?

Yeah I do too but not because I hate them, most are nice people and I had a lot of good friends in there and we had a load of good times but the conversation will always go in the direction of "Ah well the end is near" or some other bullshit that I just can't take...so I avoid all contact. -

Abuse redress depends on God: Jehovah's Witnesses
by Bangalore inabuse redress depends on god: jehovah's witnesses.. http://www.9news.com.au/national/2015/08/14/03/37/inquiry-to-hear-from-top-jehovah-member.
the jehovah's witnesses will only compensate survivors of sex abuse if god tells them to, a royal commission has been told.. senior church figure geoffrey jackson told the sex abuse royal commission that any changes the jehovah's witnesses made to their rules and doctrine had to be informed by god.. mr jackson said god's word is accessed through the bible and the church's first-century interpretation of it.. chief commissioner peter mcclellan asked him on friday if the church would be willing to take part in a joint scheme with other institutions to provide financial redress to abuse survivors.. mr jackson told him the church would need to see that "nothing was scripturally against us doing that", but it was something that was not totally out of the "option pool".. the commission is also examining why none of the church's 1006 australian child abuse cases in a 50-year period was reported to police.. mr jackson said there was a biblical underpinning to the practice on not going to police, but the church would comply with secular law if reporting to police was mandatory.. he also quoted the bible to defend the exclusion of women from decision-making roles in the jehovah's and to argue that the rule of needing two witnesses to prove any wrong doing had strong scriptural basis.. he said women would never hold leadership roles in the jehovah's witness because the bible forbids it, quoting scripture which warns against women in the congregation becoming over excited and arguing with the church leaders.. justice mcclellan stressed it was important for women to be involved in deciding if a sex abuse allegation was true and in the support of victims.. a member of the church's new york based governing body which interprets and spreads the word to its eight million global followers, mr jackson said there was a possibility of considering the involvement of women.. he stopped short of apologising to those abused by elders but said it's "perceivable" the church would apologise if there was a collective decision.. counsel for the commission angus stewart, sc challenged mr jackson on the scriptural basis for needing two witnesses to a sexual assault.. mr stewart quoted deuteronomy, a book of the old testament, which says if a woman is raped in a field and screams and there are no other witnesses it is sufficient for the man to be stoned to death.. "is it not the case that had jesus been asked about a case of sexual abuse he may have referred back to this part of deuteronomy?
" mr stewart asked.. mr jackson said he would certainly like to ask jesus the question but could not at the moment.. "i hope to in the future," he said.. mr jackson and other church officials have told the commission the two witness rule in abuse cases was changing to take in circumstances.. the commission heard earlier the church believes the end of the world is near and only 144,000 will make it to heaven, the rest will live in paradise on earth.. aap 2015. read more at http://www.9news.com.au/national/2015/08/14/03/37/inquiry-to-hear-from-top-jehovah-member#khtpxdgub0foe6b2.99.

Ha so God is confused about what the term "Generation" means and has to continually correct it.
Has so God keeps getting confused if the inhabitants of Sodom & Gomorrah are getting a resurrection and continually changes it.
Because God dictates doctrine to the GB yet the GB are never wrong as they are just messengers and God is a God of truth.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Anybody have any "REAL" experiences of spirit/demon activity? I'll explain.
by runForever ini know there is a lot of people on here that will say it is pure make believe but i am interested if anybody has had any real concrete things happen such as something moving or something appearing in the mirror etc.. anything just post it up here even if it wasn't much.

No, no-one has because demons and spirits do not exist.
There are more mobile devices that can take HD pictures and video on this planet than there are people and yet not one video or picture has been produced as conclusive evidence that they do exist in the entire span of human history.
People who think they do are experiencing something else.
Those are the facts that we can conclude based on what evidence we have, anything else id opinion and speculation.
What started me off was researching why lots of people thing there are monsters in the basement, when you research how sound reverberates around a room lower than you and what it does to the frequency of sound and what it does when it hits your ears and brain it is fascinating.

JW UN Rumor
by ivanatahan inyes, i have returned.. a short recap of major events since my inactivity began: i finally revealed to my parents that i do not believe the same thing they believe in (after i was caught smooching my girlfriend by a family of good-for-nothing pieces of human feces), and of course they view themselves as failed parents who were unable to brainwash their children.
that is, of course, the reason why they are much more controlling over what i do in my life now (my mom even tried having a "bible study" with me).
i told them everything and i was unable to dent their jw imposed mind force field, while also exposing a clear jw misunderstanding of probability, evolution, history, logic/reason, and the big bang theory.. in a conversation i had with my mother a few weeks back (i also heard this rumor before, but my mother told me it again), she mentioned how the un held a summit of all religions and when the jws presented themselves and mentioned their preaching work warning of the coming un ban on religion (referring to an international organization who can't even prevent genocide, much less impose human rights), a un official came up to the jw who presented the cult and told him to "speed up the preaching work", because they plan on doing the ban soon.. it saddens me to think of how ignorant jws are in relation to the principles upon which the un was founded and being unaware that the un at least has some sense as to not ban religion, but this rumor, as ridiculous as it is, needs to be put at rest.

she mentioned how the UN held a summit of all religions and when the JWs presented themselves and mentioned their preaching work warning of the coming UN ban on religion (referring to an international organization who can't even prevent genocide, much less impose human rights), a UN official came up to the JW who presented the cult and told him to "speed up the preaching work", because they plan on doing the ban soon.
I heard a JW was on a plane next to a UN official and they got chatting and the dub said to the UN guy that they were going to ban religion and the UN guy gasps and asks how they knew that info...

Royal Commission taking our emails to heart
by wannaexit induring the proceedings of australian royal commission, as many of you, i also took time to share with the office of mr stewart, my thoughts and perspective on what what being said and not said by the witness elders on the stand.
within a day a received a reply from office of angus stewart thanking and appreciating the insight from those on the "inside".
yesterday i received a further email that my correspondence was passed on to case study 29 (jehovah's witnesses) team for their consideration.. it sounds like they are taking all our collective experience and knowledge into account as the commission continues its work..

I too sent an email thanking Angus Stewart, I gave him no info, just appreciation for his methods and preparation...I told him if he ever visited the UK he would have a fair few friends to call on...
Like others he too personally replied thanking me for my kind words.
Incredible man.

Could the Independent Inquiry in England and Wales expose jw.org's child abuse failures? And how can we help?
by defender of truth inwith all the talk about the org's policies and failures regarding child sexual abuse being publically exposed in australia, i thought that it may be a good time to highlight this... i apologise if this has already been discussed, but on the 9th of july the independent inquiry into child sexual abuse in england and wales was opened.
here is some information regarding it's aims.. "about the inquiry.
the inquiry offers an unprecedented opportunity to examine the extent to which institutions and organisations in england and wales have taken seriously their responsibility to protect children.. the inquiry will investigate a wide range of institutions including:.

Ditto. On more than one occasion too. The last one was a complete pig. He used to march around with his nose in the air.
I, much happily, found some dirt on our COBE and I confronted him with it...a month later he moved congregations. I made sure the dirt went with him...he was not reappointed an elder...although I understand he is now...sadly.
