Midweek Meetings no longer Necessary
by Tech49 ini am sure we have all seen the recent letter to the boe concerning the change that will take place to the meeting arrangement during the week of the co visit.
to recap the basics: the meeting that usually contains the cong bible study (book study) and a co talk will be discontinued, publishers are encouraged to use their family worship night that week to cover book study material.. so here is a point that i think has been missed, or not even considered:.
if that particular meeting is hereby deleted from the schedule, the co and his wife will never ever have to participate in or go to another "book study", or "bible study" night again.

Steamroll? Still think like a JW? Oh my...you don't like my points so you try to discredit the person...I know that tactic from somewhere...pathetic.
What is the Yes or No answer to this question: Is encouraging publishers of no concern to all CO's?
You claim the answer is Yes. All I'm saying is the answer is No.
End of.

Not really wanting to get into a war on words but....
You said " If you look only for opinions that match your pre-conceived ideas you won't learn much. Step out of your comfort zone and listen to those that have seen a thing or two."
That implies I haven't...or that you know more.
.
.
You say: "I f I've experienced it personally, then it's true."
So if you came to my house and it rained all day and you went back home and said to your family "it rains all the time there" then that is true because you experienced it? That statement may be true to you but it is not fact. All CO's to you may be cold company men and that is true in your experience but it is not fact.
.
.
I understand the bigger picture and agree 100% with you about the religion in general etc but that is not my point. I get fed up of people beating down on the WT by using general statements which are untrue and ironically these very ones complain when the WT makes generic statements. It is a religion, like the rest of them, it has major bad points...but it also has good, geunine people. Now that in itself doesn't make it good but to help others out by making generalised statements won't work because it shows a bitterness.
.
.
You say: " Sometimes calling a spade a spade is precisely the wake-up call a JW needs."
Wishful thinking but research into the cult thinking would be against you on that. We all know showing evidence that the WT is a fake to a dub is utterly pointless.
.
.
DATA-DOG you say: " but ADCMS is right because at the end of the day, NO C.O is going to fall on their sword for a lowly R&F."
That is correct in terms of a CO will not fall for the dub but that was not the point ADCMS made, he said "Encouraging the factory workers (Publishers) is of no concern to a CO. "
That statement is wrong...there are plenty of CO's and Elders who genuinley care about people.
.
.
And that is my beef because if I was just starting to fade and I read that I pick up that this guy has issues with the WT and therefore no matter what he says he is like a bitter and twisted apostate and thus I slip back in...that is not the way to get people out of this cult.

But that is the point ADCMS...your post reflects your own experiences which comes across when you say ALL CO's don't care one iota about publishers.
And how do you know what I have experienced? I was in 20 years, served as an elder and pioneer, did talks at DC's (sorry RC's now), served at many Bethel's etc etc and had close connection to John Barr (we come from the same area) so I've been there and done it too...I've mingled with the elite...
Again you say you know one or two genuine CO's but that is your experience...you say they are rare...again your experience...I've served in a lot of countries and can tell you it is not that rare hence why you cannot say what you say...I've seen many a CO take on the org in many points...
You can say "In your experience my opinion is" and that is fair enough but the point of these forums is to help people get out mentally...a very hard thing to do if you are in and threfore these cold and rash points made like "CO's are not interested in publishers" just fuels the thought that this place is full of bitter apostates because the new person visiting here will know not all CO's are like that thus proving you are speaking untruth.
The fact you ascert that I haven't seen much in the org is just my point..you have posted about something you know nothing about (me) and it just makes you look like a bitter person...
We all laughed at the org for tarnishing all people who are apostates as these fighters of God with pictures of people with placards in a recent WT...yet you just tarred all CO's...so you are guilty of the same thing...and again none of this helps those who are just starting out on mentally leaving...
So why post that if it doesn't help one bit...
I like your posts, most of them are good...it is expected that some bias or some of our own experiences come out on here but it doesn't help sometimes when you post stuff that is not true, even if that has been your experience...

This is what is sometimes wrong with this forum...to quote AndDontCallMeShirley:
"The CO is a regional manager who's job is to make sure the lesser managers (elders) are enforcing company policy. With recent changes, he is now also in the 'business' if "hiring" and "firing" managers for the company, namely, by being the sole person who appoints and deletes elders.
Encouraging the factory workers (Publishers) is of no concern to a CO."
Utter nonsense and you have labelled all CO's with the same brush. I know plenty of CO's who believe in the spirit of the law over and above the letter of the law and don't stick to the guidelines as set out by the society and I have seen CO's take heat about it but as they say they are more concerned about people more so than most elders.
I'm out...faded for the last 2 years but if we are going to help others come out then we need to stop posting stuff like this that looks like bitter words that tar an entire group of people and is just plain untrue.
I know some CO's who are company men and lack a love of people...but I also know lots of CO's who have genuine love for people and have demonstrated that. To say that publishers wellbeing is of no concern to CO's in general is wrong and fuels belief that this forum is full of bitter apostates that go around with placards...
Usually, AndDontCallMeShirley is good with posting...and I'm not picking or singling you out...it is just an observation on these forums that I notice...I much prefer JWR website where you don't get that feeling from posters.

The ancient remains of a teenage girl discovered deep underground in Mexico are providing additional insights on how the Americas came to be populated.
Divers found the juvenile's bones by chance in a vast, flooded limestone chamber on the Yucatan Peninsula.
Aged 15 or 16 at death, the girl lived at least 12,000 years ago.
Researchers have told Science Magazine her DNA backs the idea that the first Americans and modern Native American Indians share a common ancestry.
This theory argues that people from Siberia settled on the land bridge dubbed Beringia that linked Asia and the Americas some 20,000 years ago before sea levels rose.
Sea levels 20,000 years ago were low enough to expose a land bridge across the Bering Sea
These people then moved south to populate the American continents.
The genetics of modern Native Americans would certainly appear to link them into this story. But their facial features set them apart from the oldest skeletons now being unearthed.
These ancient people had narrower, longer skulls. The differences have hinted that perhaps there were multiple immigrations from Siberia (or even Europe).
However, the remains of the Yucatan girl, dubbed Naia - which means "water nymph" in Greek - does not follow that line of thinking, because although she had the slender features associated with the earliest Americans, her DNA shares commonalities with modern Native Americans.
Lab analysis of teeth and bone samples link her to a particular genetic lineage known as Haplogroup D1.
This same marker is found in substantial numbers of modern Native Americans.
"This lineage is thought to have developed in Beringia, the land that now lies beneath the Bering Sea after its ice age occupants became genetically isolated from the rest of Asia," explained lead author Dr Jim Chatters.
"Thus, Naia, one of the earliest occupants of the Americas yet found, suggests that Paleoamericans do not represent an early migration from a part of the world different than that of the Native Americans.
"Rather, Paleoamericans and Native Americans descended from the same homeland in Beringia.
"The differences between them likely arose from evolution that occurred after the Beringian gene pool became separated from the rest of the world."
The Yucatan Peninsula is famous for its giant limestone sinkholes, or cenotes.
The chamber where the girl was found represents one of these pits before its roof has collapsed to produce a wide surface opening.
To reach the natural amphitheatre, divers had to swim almost 1km (0.6 miles) through a water-filled tunnel.
"The moment we entered inside, we knew it was an incredible place," recalled Alberto Nava.
"The floor disappeared under us and we could not see across to the other side. We pointed our lights down and to the side; all we could see was darkness.
"We felt as if our powerful underwater lights were being destroyed by this void. So we called it 'black hole', which in Spanish is 'Hoyo Negro'."
'Died almost instantly'
Scientists can only speculate as to why Naia had been in the cavern. Skeletal remains of many animals also litter the pit's floor.
The suspicion is that they all were looking for water, because the region had a very dry climate 12,000 years ago and the cavern would have been mostly dry but for a few pools.
Perhaps they stumbled and fell to their death in the darkness.
"Her pelvis is broken and it appears to have been broken at or around the time of her death because it's fractured in a way that relatively young bone would break rather than ancient bone," said Dr Chatters.
"So, it appears she fell quite a distance and struck something hard. I think she died almost instantly, if not instantly."
On the face of it, the new study supports research published in February that looked at the genetics of an infant who died at about the same time in what is now the US State of Montana.
This investigation of "Anzick" boy, as he has become known, was conducted on the main DNA material found in the nuclei of the cells.
Naia's DNA, on the other hand, was sourced from outside the nuclei of her cells - in structures called the mitochondria. These carry much more limited information.
Dr Shane Doyle from Montana State University said Dr Chatters' team therefore still had some ground to travel before very robust conclusions could be drawn.
"In my view they have a way to go before they can say anything substantial," he told BBC News.
"It's extremely difficult to get at the nuclear DNA and decoding it is very complex, but this is what they need to do. Until they do that, they cannot tell us a lot about where Native American Indians came from."
Dr Chatters confirmed that unravelling Naia's nuclear genome was a future priority.

They have gotten away with changing fundamental doctrines like the FDS and Generation. They will change 1914 and 144,000 at some point but first off they want more money and they realise the 7 million jdubs believe they, in the GB, are God's chosen channel thus they know they can say or do anything...like give us your money...and they will obey...
-

Is it true that the GB is soon planning on ditching the 1914 doctrine?
by yogosans14 inor atleast tweaking it again... apparently there has been rumors of this coming out of bethel.

Well the fact that 1914 is based on an incorrect date to start with and an incorrect calculation 1914 has no basis in the bible...so it does need to change...but that fact that as mentioned it is pretty much the keystone of the JW's belief's it's hard to see them change it.
One thing is for sure though, if they do change it and most of the jdubs accept it then the GB have won...because if jdubs accept a change in that then they will accept everything and anything the GB say...
The GB have got away with changing the FDS and the Generation...will they take the risk and change 1914? Their reasoning will need to be pretty convincing...cue terms like "evidently" and "obviously this is what Jehovah meant".
