i think it's still a district convention until it goes to two days, isn't it?

my convention program leaflet just says "convention of jehovah's witnesses", seemingly intentionally avoiding the change in wording.

So the author who is a JW...does his book go against the doctrines of the society? Are these books therefore pro JW? If not how does he rationalize being a JW but write the true history of JW's????

What is the key to free yourself from the Organization?

they key to free yourself from the organization is having mental clarity of what is happening in relation to the watchtower, inside and out.

their basic concept is that they are god's sole organization on earth.

there really is no basis for anyone to make that statement.

The OP is right...as soon as you realise that the FDS are not the sole channel of communication by God and that he would never use them then the house of cards come tumbling down very fast because it is amazing to see how many of the core doctrines we use to believe that came from the FDS without scriptural evidence (evidently Jesus meant an overlapping generation..evidently meaning based on evidence...where is the evidence?) that we just accepted on the premesis that they were chosen...

Once you hit that point you will fade fast...I did.

i am sure we have all seen the recent letter to the boe concerning the change that will take place to the meeting arrangement during the week of the co visit.

to recap the basics: the meeting that usually contains the cong bible study (book study) and a co talk will be discontinued, publishers are encouraged to use their family worship night that week to cover book study material.. so here is a point that i think has been missed, or not even considered:.

if that particular meeting is hereby deleted from the schedule, the co and his wife will never ever have to participate in or go to another "book study", or "bible study" night again.

What is the Yes or No answer to this question: Is encouraging publishers of no concern to all CO's?

That implies I haven't...or that you know more.

So if you came to my house and it rained all day and you went back home and said to your family "it rains all the time there" then that is true because you experienced it? That statement may be true to you but it is not fact. All CO's to you may be cold company men and that is true in your experience but it is not fact.

I understand the bigger picture and agree 100% with you about the religion in general etc but that is not my point. I get fed up of people beating down on the WT by using general statements which are untrue and ironically these very ones complain when the WT makes generic statements. It is a religion, like the rest of them, it has major bad points...but it also has good, geunine people. Now that in itself doesn't make it good but to help others out by making generalised statements won't work because it shows a bitterness.

That is correct in terms of a CO will not fall for the dub but that was not the point ADCMS made, he said "Encouraging the factory workers (Publishers) is of no concern to a CO. "

That statement is wrong...there are plenty of CO's and Elders who genuinley care about people.

And that is my beef because if I was just starting to fade and I read that I pick up that this guy has issues with the WT and therefore no matter what he says he is like a bitter and twisted apostate and thus I slip back in...that is not the way to get people out of this cult.

But that is the point ADCMS...your post reflects your own experiences which comes across when you say ALL CO's don't care one iota about publishers.

And how do you know what I have experienced? I was in 20 years, served as an elder and pioneer, did talks at DC's (sorry RC's now), served at many Bethel's etc etc and had close connection to John Barr (we come from the same area) so I've been there and done it too...I've mingled with the elite...

Again you say you know one or two genuine CO's but that is your experience...you say they are rare...again your experience...I've served in a lot of countries and can tell you it is not that rare hence why you cannot say what you say...I've seen many a CO take on the org in many points...

You can say "In your experience my opinion is" and that is fair enough but the point of these forums is to help people get out mentally...a very hard thing to do if you are in and threfore these cold and rash points made like "CO's are not interested in publishers" just fuels the thought that this place is full of bitter apostates because the new person visiting here will know not all CO's are like that thus proving you are speaking untruth.

The fact you ascert that I haven't seen much in the org is just my point..you have posted about something you know nothing about (me) and it just makes you look like a bitter person...

We all laughed at the org for tarnishing all people who are apostates as these fighters of God with pictures of people with placards in a recent WT...yet you just tarred all CO's...so you are guilty of the same thing...and again none of this helps those who are just starting out on mentally leaving...

So why post that if it doesn't help one bit...

I like your posts, most of them are good...it is expected that some bias or some of our own experiences come out on here but it doesn't help sometimes when you post stuff that is not true, even if that has been your experience...

This is what is sometimes wrong with this forum...to quote AndDontCallMeShirley:

Utter nonsense and you have labelled all CO's with the same brush. I know plenty of CO's who believe in the spirit of the law over and above the letter of the law and don't stick to the guidelines as set out by the society and I have seen CO's take heat about it but as they say they are more concerned about people more so than most elders.

I'm out...faded for the last 2 years but if we are going to help others come out then we need to stop posting stuff like this that looks like bitter words that tar an entire group of people and is just plain untrue.

I know some CO's who are company men and lack a love of people...but I also know lots of CO's who have genuine love for people and have demonstrated that. To say that publishers wellbeing is of no concern to CO's in general is wrong and fuels belief that this forum is full of bitter apostates that go around with placards...

Usually, AndDontCallMeShirley is good with posting...and I'm not picking or singling you out...it is just an observation on these forums that I notice...I much prefer JWR website where you don't get that feeling from posters.
