'great crowd' are in the temple (naos) but not in the new covenant???
by fukitol inin one of the biggest about-faces in watchtower history, in a 2002 question from readers it was admitted that the great crowd is indeed in the temple itself (naos) in revelation 7. .
but notice the statement bolded below from that article comparing the great crowd to the proselytes in ancient israel.
the statement is made that the proselytes "submitted to the law covenant.

Pointless...just reaffirms in a dubs mind that they have "the truth" since those who leave or have issues with the WT are bitter, mentally diseased apostates.
Stunts like this just push people further in or sway those that have doubts back to the side of the WT...
This kind of active activism just does not work...

The Watchtower are Right About Blood...
by cofty in... but, they fail to take note of one important detail.. i believe that if we are going to have any chance of reasoning with a jw about blood, this is the place we need to begin.. don't try to convince them that it was only a dietary law.
it wasn't, and they will never go along with it.. don't tell them that saving a life is more important than obeying a law, even a seemingly trivial one.
they take pride in obedience.

I've just read the OP and all comments...Cofty's OP is spot on to try and reason with a still-in dub on their own terms...
This method may work but only as many have mentioned that the dub has a measure of doubt that they have "the truth".
What others have alluded to is the question whether this subject will actually speed up or start the "awake" process that we all have gone through.
And there is no right answer to that, some may...some may not...but the point is Cofty's OP cannot hurt because even if the dub defends the WT on this subject and refutes in his mind the argument it WILL be a building block for another doubt and when added up will help the person wake up.
This was my journey, not really one thing that woke me up but continual reading on sites like these that, when added up, I knew it was not "the truth".
Thus whilst Cofty's reasoning may not start the awake process with someone it will be a building block to it if they continue to research or query things...

Thing is...there was no dip...it was just dry bread...said this to my still-in wife as she looked in horror as I snacked on a bit of unleavened bread...surely Jebus would have used dip????
I guess my wife won't invite me again to the memorial!

This teaching about spirit mediums:
From 1920 WT publication "Talking with the Dead":
p. 116 Materializations
"These materializations occur by a power which the demons posess of being able to draw out of the mediums body connected streams of the cells of which her body is composed, and then changing the form of these living cells into any desired appearance. They thus transform the medium into a hideous octopus-like creature, and this is the reason seances occur in a dimly lit room, with the medium in a cabinet, so that the circle of investigators cannot witness the horrible scene as it really is." -

If the Jehovah's Witnesses were really the Faithful & Discrete Slave active today, they wouldn't be full of Bullshit
by Finkelstein inif the watchtower corporation and the jehovah's witnesses were really the faithful & discrete slave active today, they wouldn't be full of bullshit .. this is a logical statement given the history of this religious institute / publishing house.
i said it before and i'll say it again, that the majority of the doctrines created by the wts were intensionally focused toward enhancing the proliferation of the wts own publications.
this has been a constant underlining agenda for the wts all throughout the last century, the end of the 19th century and still to this day.

The FDS theory/doctrine/prophecy is easily blown out of the water...I've said this to still-in dubs and they hate with a passion what I say to them because it is undeniable.
Ask them do the FDS have the truth and proclaim it? Yes they say...
Ask them so the statement "Millions Now Living Will Never Die" or "The Generation that saw 1914 will see the end of the system of thing" are truth? They were they will say but now new light has been revealed...
Ask them so the old light on the two points that I mentioned, who were the author of those two points? Jehoover or the GB? I.E. Did those old light points have the backing of the Holy Spirit? They will most likely say Jehoover but even if they say the GB you have them....
If the old light was backed by HS and Jehoover then He is a God of Falsehood so bye bye...if the GB are the author of the old light and Jehoover refines the teaching then the JW's are followers of men and the bible warns against that.
Conclude by reinforcing the point by saying that there could be doctrines now they believe that are considered "truth" that will get new light...thus God is a liar or the GB are not backed by HS.
Some might say "Ah yes but the GB are just imperfect men" and that statement is true, as individuals they are imperfect and may say a naughty word when they hit their toe or do a double take when a large breasted woman walks in front of them but as a group, when they come together as the GB/FDS, they can never ever be wrong IF they are backed by HS.
End of.

rumor out that governing body is going to adjust the loveing disfellowshiping arangment df yes shunning no.
by poopie incan anyone confirm they seem to be having disagreement writing dept and service dept some feel that df ok as long as you do not add wholesale across the board shunning regardless of the sin ..

notsurewheretogo
The society cannot go back on the shunning policy...I've seen entire families in tears during a talk about being loyal to Jehoover when a family member is DF...there are thousands of families who cut off family members because they believe it was the right thing to do...
...to change that would cause massive family issues...even if the GB wanted to change it they know they can't.

Confusion over the parable of the prodigal son
by economy inthough parable of prodigal son is superlative in quality as it graphically picturizes the scientific law of cause and consequence, its conclusion defames god.
when the prodigal son returned repentant, his father showed his delight saying: let us celebrate this by killing a fattened calf.
(luke 15:23) such a concept (let us rejoice by giving maximum pain to another innocent living being) seems to be interpolation for the following reason:.

notsurewheretogo
Isn't the bigger issue that the father forgave the son even though the son was not truly repentant but he only came back because he was hungry?
Kind of blows the "shunning" practice to bits doesn't it? The father should have shunned the son until he was "truly" repentant.

Epic Discussion ( Confrontation ) with JW Cart People about WT Child Abuse
by flipper inso i had about had enough of reading jw's excuses online about wt child abuse and the candace conti nightline abc video about her case.
this is a really deep burning topic to me as i'm sure it is to many of you.
so today the gloves came off.

Whilst I enjoyed reading the experience and no doubt flipper enjoyed it too when dubs experience this it only reinforces the point to them that Satan controls the world and the media and attacks them using any point...
The 3 dubs will have it reinforced that apostates and the media are out to get the organisation thus cementing their misguided faith even further towards the WT...
That is why debates or discussions with still-in dubs like flipper had usually has the reverse effect of what we want to achieve...
