Intriguing - but Unsubstantiated!
by The Searcher inaccording to one source on a western european 'apostate' website, the org's plan is to abandon the name "jehovah's witnesses" in the future, and replace it with "worshippers of jehovah.".
http://www.bruderinfo-aktuell.de/index.php/fixnews/#comment-4313 .
the gist of the account appears to be a repeat of rutherford's re-branding and debunking of old predictions made by the previous shower of fakers.

Change would allow them to distance themselves from teachings like
"The overlapping generation of 1914 will not die"
"No Blood but fractions ok"
That was a teaching of "Worshippers of Jehovah
but we are------"INSERT NEW BRAND NAME HERE"
We're different.Yeah...and then.

Have you heard the one about "Back to the Future" Predicting 911??
by EndofMysteries inwhen somebody posted this on fb, i was anxious to see how ridiculous it would be, probably worse then the gb prophecies, etc.
after watching the clip, i honestly don't know what to believe.
at the very least it's very entertaining and interesting.

Geoffrey Jackson wanting to speak to Jesus
by notsurewheretogo ini'm still amazed he said this when he was questioned by the rc in austraila.... if anyone is in any doubt that the gb are "full on in" then that statement he made just proves these gb guys are 100% captive to the concept that they are chosen by god to be guardians of the galaxy er i mean doctrine.
.
these guys actual think, 100%, they are anointed and chosen by god to run his physical organisation on earth and that they will indeed co-rule in heaven with jc...geoffrey wants to chat to jc about the inadequate child abuse policies that the wt have since jc actually runs the show from heaven.. the gb are not master criminals or intelligent people who know how to dupe people or trick them, they fully believe 100% the bull they preach.. mental..

Did an EX-JW wake you up to TTATT or did you put the effort to wake up yourself?
by John Aquila inhow many of us were woken up by some apostate yelling false prophets at a convention?.
how many of us were woken up by someone holding a sign and yelling, what happened to 1975.
how many of us were coerced to investigate the wt because some ex-jw pulled up a bunch of old watchtowers magazines and told us to read the false predictions?.

What an interesting thread...and some cracking replies.
I was asked on the ministry by a young priest how do I know the JW's teach "the truth" since we never check against other sources...it was a good point and we had a good chat about it and he pointed to the date of the destruction of Jerusalem as an example.
So for months I got up at 6am and researched for 2 hours prior to going to work and naturally I eventually had to concede that 607 cannot be accounted for and the only line of reasoning a JW can use is "it must be right as it comes from the GB and fulfills 1914 prophecy".
I was an elder at this point and from here I branched out into other studies until I stumbled on here as a guest, on JWSurvey.com and JWFacts.com.
I spent a few months fighting myself internally until one day it just hit...."this is not the truth and JW's are wrong".
After I came to that conclusion the rest was easy...resigned as an elder...stopped going to meetings...took me a few months to get mentally out but now I'm the happiest I've ever been.
I've also come to realize that if others are to do the same in my congregation or my still-in family then they too must do the journey I did, me telling them does little, all I can do is point them to areas and subjects to research.
But I'm not bitter about it all...I learned some life lessons and developed better social skills but naturally you can do this in a better way and now the hard part is to get my wife and kids out.

this poor girl was abused by her "non-jw" (never baptised ?
) brother, then was totally abused by the jw elders by their lack of care for her in any way, and then by her jw family, read the in-depth article, link above..

What an awful story...but thanks for posting.
“I was told they would strongly advise me against reporting it to the police,” she says. “It would bring reproach on God’s name and look bad for the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
She should sue their asses off...

Which current GB members are part of the "overlapping generation"?
by Splash inthoughts triggered from a comment cappytan made on a different thread:.
cappytan the newest guy in the gang, mark sanderson, is no exception [to being a gb helper at some point].
- w2013 7/15 p.26 a new member of the governing body"in september 2010, [mark sanderson] was invited to return to the united states, where he served as a helper to the service committee of the governing body.".

WT 2015 says that all GB helpers since 1992 are the other sheep
- All the current GB members were helpers during or after 1992
- Freddy Franz died in 1992 so unless you were anointed then, you are not an overlapper or "this generation"
- Therefore all current GB members were other sheep in 1992, and not "this generation"
BUT
- Splane says in Sept 2015 broadcast that "All the current members of the Gov Body are of 'this generation' "
Conclusion:
It would really help the WT credibility if they were at least consistent in their made up explanations!Excellent summary...never knew the WT confirms they were all helpers AFTER 1992...destroys their September ramble.
The only thing I note is the WT says "some" of the other sheep became helpers...nowhere do they say ALL helpers are other sheep....unless I missed it.

They said in their recent "overlapping" ramble that ALL GB members are part of the second group that overlapped the first...including Mark Sanderson...thus he lives till 80 means the Big A doesn't need to come for another 30 years and they do not need to change the doctrine. -

Candace Conti
by Pubsinger inso we know that wt settled out of court for an undisclosed sum and that presumably there was a 'gagging order' attached to the settlement.. not having really thought about what a 'confidentiality clause' meant before, i assumed in the past that it meant that you weren't allowed to disclose the amount of the settlement or any details about it.
but from the total and absolute silence once the settlement was made, i can only assume that it is a total gagging order.. how can the courts allow such a restriction to be put on a victim?
protecting the abusers and allowing the institution to cover up the lengths they go to to avoid admitting their guilt?

The thing that many do not understand though is that herself and her laywer said it was not about money but exposing the organisation and getting them to change their policies.
Whilst she did get media attention many dubs still do not know who she is and nothing has changed policy wise therefore coming to an agreement with the WT and agreeing to a gagging order is not in line with her or her laywers stated purpose in why they were doing what they did in the first place.
The WT simply bought her silence.
Personally I would have done the same and probably well before she did but it seems strange to many exjws that she fought the cause, said her motivation was not money but to expose and push through or help reform within the WT but then she quickly agrees a deal with the WT and a gagging order.
She deserves all the happiness she can get, as do all who have suffered at the hands of abusers hidden within the WT.
Hopefully, she has laid the groundwork for others to come forward and be brave like she did and sue the gits.
