since david cameron has bowed out, his successor is not going to pull the article 50 trigger any time soon.

we don’t even have a successor yet.. bojo looked sheepish and chastened at having won the leave vote, i don’t think he really believed he would win.

he was at best flying a flag of convenience in heading up the brexit camp, was his heart really in it?.

Article 50 will be triggered, it is democracy.

We just don't know who and when.

Old Watchtower publications in improved format

right now, all the zion's watch towers from 1880 - 1908 and the watch towers from 1909 to 1920 have been improved drastically.

it seems britain has voted to leave the eu in a move of total madness!

the markets are already in free fall and the moronic bigots who campaigned for this are celebrating the demise of our country .. i can't see how a 49-51% split can be democratic?

there is still the postal vote to come in, maybe there's hope in that?

Scottish Independent Referendum Part 2 will all be about the £ v €...but next time round there is no hiding from it.

Do you want to be part of the UK and keep the £ or separate from the UK and have the € because all new EU member states must take the € as their currency, that is non negotiable.

Also worth considering is would the EU take a separated Scotland because 2 years ago Scotland's deficit was £7.8 billion, last year it was £15 billion which is higher than Greece's!

Working on that figure, in order to even be considered for EU membership as a separate country, Scotland would have to implement austerity measures 5 times greater than current UK ones.

And who is to say the EU will continue in its current form. Netherlands are calling a referendum and are expected to vote to leave and their are noises from France that they may also hold a referendum.

Another country, cant remember who it os off the top of my head had applied to join but has recently withdrawn their application.

There's uncertainty ahead but it would be financial suicide for Scotland to be in the EU but not in the UK

List of "pagan" things JW's allow

what i'm looking for specifically is things that are "pagan" in the sense they predate christianity (or i guess judiasm to cover the ole mosaic code), that jw's allow or do.

the ones that come to mind are below.. rings - rings seem to originate in egypt.

for wedding ceremonies it became a symbol of "ownership" in rome.. pinatas - looks like possibly it originated in china as a part of the new year and a request for luck, and catholics later turned it into a beating of temptation type thing.. anything else?.

Did others experience this on the ministry or among JWs generally?

sometimes it's hard to know if our own experience of jws was typical and what features were peculiar to our own area or the individual jws we knew personally.

i was wondering if others experienced this among jws:.

a few times on the ministry, when we were working wealthy areas with large houses, some brothers and sisters would make the comment that they look forward to taking ownership of one of these big houses after armageddon, when the worldly people have vacated them.

The tribes of Israel were assigned land...the pattern after the Big A therefore, logically, given that Jehoover is a "God of Order", is that your land and house would be "assigned to you".

Thus you couldn't choose where to live or what house to nab...

Availability Crisis of Conscience.

deborah dykstra provided us with two updates.

on december 12, 2015 there was a clear statement about the copyright which stopped all illegal activity in spreading electronic versions & prints.. finally, she promised a new update by or before may 6.. so far no new update.

i am sure that after the dust of the jwr shutdown has settled, you will find this to be a good new home.. i would like to apologize for the sudden closure of jwr.

By sudden closure we were hoping that some would decide to let the past go and move on – and perhaps some will.

That is not for you or anyone else to decide or inflict...running JWR is appreciated but it comes with responsibility...a responsibility to act sensibly, decently and...responsibily...

Closing it down because there were people abusing forum rules...well guess what...that is what happens on forums...but to turn it off and say to folks "move on"...I'm a bit flabbergasted at that.

Goodbye DS...goodbye JWR...but the end of JWR is very bitter and very strange...

at church this afternoon it was an uncanny experience.

in the past i've read a lot about mormons, so i thought i was prepared in general for what it would be like.
