I came here three years ago for support and to make friends
by KateWild inthis site is such a great and valuable resource and simon is to be commended for running it for so long.
when i first came i was in such a bad state and really needed support and friendship.
so many posters commented on my threads and showed genuine care some are real life friends, some are facebook friends, some i talk to on the phone and some are forum friends.. i have just realised though that everyone online is not your friend.

I'm active on many forums...JW and non JW related...I don't class anyone I know on them as "friends"....friends are for real life...forums and the internet is a very hard place to form friends for the same reason that it can be abused...you can hide what you are...

I conclude evolution is guided
by KateWild inyour qualifications are way above mine so i'd love to hear more about the specifics of what you have researched and how that supports the existence of a deity.
k99, i am not really convinced that you're interested in my conclusions.
in nature amino acids formed to then form dna.

I apologise for falsely accusing K99 and Notsure of trying to prove me wrong. I shouldn't have accused them. Sorry K99 and Notsure
I've stayed out of this thread recently because it has become a farce, I was genuinely interested in the process and mechanics of a person who concludes that evolution is true but is also "guided"...I was interested in how they arrived at that conclusion...nothing more nothing less...
But it became clear from Kate she thought myself and K99 had some form of agenda, we didn't...we just were asking questions since we come from a different viewpoint and in all things in my life I always try and see it from the other side.
I stayed off this thread after getting a PM from Kate that had some absurd assumptions about me...I reread Kate's introduction on here and read her background and I am happy to just leave it...I appreciate the apology though.
Thing is if Kate posts threads like this one she will get challenged, and she may even get people with an agenda posting because if you are going to post something on these forums and not back it up or post why you feel something leads you to a conclusion yet you do not state what that process was you are going to get challenged, and rightly so.
If Kate feels myself or K99 were hassling her or trying to prove her wrong, we were not but expect that others will if posts like these continue.
Cofty's posts on evolution are how it is done...he posts his conclusions by posting the evidence behind them, others who disagree with Cofty can then see his reasoning and just how he arrives at his conclusion and then offer a counter viewpoint again with evidence backing up their point.
That is discussion, showing the paths of both sides of the argument and how they arrive at conclusions...I don't see much of that going on here and it is what I asked for which led to some wild assumptions.
It is good to remember why we are here...whilst we all may now have differing viewpoints the one thing we all have in common is we escaped a cult that is really hard to realize is not the truth...this now leads on different paths but coming off that path is a heck of an achievement...lets keep that in mind and be polite to one another. -

If God is the Creator, who created God or how did he evolve?

If God/FSM exists, who or what causes Him to exist?
Now that indeed is a good question...I guess most creationists would say none, being in the spiritual plane of existence would mean the cause/effect doesn't have to apply...there doesn't need to be a cause for Him to exist?
I guess this because I'm not on that side!

Not a problem. How she exists or not is something we cannot grasp because we mere humans are limited by the concept of "existence".
Exactly how a dub would answer...as I refer to in all my points...as when I was fading I had loads of conversations with still-ins who happily accepted all the rubbish I posted earlier...

you can't exist for zero seconds.
But a creationist would say that God existed BEFORE time...again you are putting time into the equation...take it out...meaning your point is moot.
This is what I meant by "cause".
I see...but you still say "What caused him to come into existence" which implies a beginning though...no matter what we imply the term "cause" is...

Actually I did read your post and understood your point. When I wrote "If God/FSM exists, who or what caused Him to come into existence?" I didn't mention "when", or a concept of time. In other words, I am highlighting the cause/effect issue, not the before/after issue.
My point is God's existence did not have a start and won't have a finish...thus the cause/effect doesn't come into play...the concept of "when" has a bearing on cause/effect...if "when" is "always" then there is no cause/effect in relation to God...cause/effect only comes into play if there is a beginning and there isn't with a God...or so says the bible...
Hence why you cannot use "time" in this equation as to "who created God"

I think it's far more relevant to ask if God/FSM exists then what is he doing now?
Agreed but that is not the point the OP wants to discuss, perhaps best for another thread?

who or what caused Him to come into existence?
You haven't read my post..you can't think along the path of "time"...the concept of God exists out with time thus He never had a start or never has a finish...
You have to remove time from the equation...God has always been is the answer as to how He came into existence..if you believe in such a thing.

The simple answer is if there is a God who is a creator then he exists out with the boundaries of the physical universe and with that time...we humans cannot grasp the concept of outwith time...the bible says that God is the "King of Eternity" and thus He will live forever...thus put that concept backwards and he has always lived or been in existence...something we cannot grasp because we are limited to the concept of time.
You can't understand a God in terms of human boundaries...
