recently i talked to someone i care about who is in the jw group and stated i feel that believing billions of people are going to die when armegedon comes and only a jws will survive would be unloving of a god.

the response is one that i've also noticed others have experienced.

in short the answer is something like the following: "we don't believe that, only jehovah can read hearts.

A person could leave the Organization due to doctrinal errors with a touch of bad people being evil. Brother B is disfellowshiped for selling drugs and raping little girls and the end result is?

Nobody knows who the bad person is, but Brother B will be called upon once a year by the elders to see if he has had a change of heart from jail. Brother A. will be left alone forever, B is more evil and unworthy of a yearly check up, he has been judged to go to Ghenna!

What's The Worst Thing About Being A Jehovah's Witness?

for me, i think it's that the witnesses teach they are god's spokesman.

they represent his "faithful & discreet slave"....and that they alone are expounders of the only truth and that if you disagree with anything they teach, you are considered worse than vomit.. it's unbelievable because these people are wrong so many times, it cannot be excused!.

as a witness, you must accept every viewpoint and if you (and your family) do not accept it all, hook, line and sinker, you are "apostates"!!!.

...minimus, sure it can...just let it go...if you are not convinced of their 'doctrine' then look away...

...do you feel this way about, say...muslims? ...mormons?....buddhists? ...are THEY excusable? then why not jw's?

You might find this interesting Elephant. The website owner is 'for' Russell (think he comes on JWN too). Read the discourse and make your own mind up. For me there are more questions than answers.

...a very interesting discourse to say the least...now, if you read this with the strictest of assumptions regarding the symbolism, allegories, personal understanding, etc., etc... you could very easily miss the point of Russell's discourse...

...which in the end he made very plain and easy to comprehend...he considered himself to be a brother of Christ...

...why would this be a source of confusion?....unless you don't fully comprehend the 'symbols' and 'terms' he alludes to...that would be OUR deficiency, would it not?
