As far as the foster kids thing, I have to wonder if JWs engage in this to convert them.
I believe this goes on a lot in the JW religion. I personally know someone who did this in my old congregation.

this statement appears to be absolute truth if you were to ask any one of jehovah's witnesses to answer the question: who can one turn to for help in making positive changes in their life?
the literature that they read is peppered with examples of people who once were violent or drug addicted or had other addictions such as alcohol or gambling and are now one of jehovah's witnesses.
first, do you believe that one can only make a change by studying the bible with jws?
willyloman,
Nice talk, funch. Gave you a "G." Liked your conclusion.
Maybe next time I can give it in the 'A' school.

Phantom asked:
A better question is "do people who believe in corporal punishment as being commanded by God, and who deny possibly life-saving medical treatments, qualify as foster parents?"
I am no expert on the rules of being a foster parent, but your question begs another question: If a JW foster parent was in a car wreck and the foster child needed blood, does the father have any right to refuse? In other words, whose decision is it to make? The foster parent or the State?

"My foster children choose what they want to be. But when they're in my home, I have to supervise them. And if they have to go to church, they go there and sit there with a book or a CD player. That's their decision, not my decision to make for them," Billy Johnson said.
Yeah, right! This man is taking foster children to the meetings and is letting them do what they want like listening to a CD player? This man needs to stop lying!
Johnson said the state wouldn't pay for care and he wasn't taking her to change her beliefs, only to supervise her. "I don't care if it was my foster child or a regular child, a 14-year-old doesn't need to stay home alone at night when there's boys running around.
This guy is such a liar. He was bringing her to the meetings hoping to save her so that she can see how good Jehovah really is (his thoughts, not mine!).
When the 14-year-old girl complained, the DCS said Johnson couldn't take her to meetings and had to provide care for her.
I know that must've been a tough decision for the girl since being in the Foster system must be extremely challenging. But I admire her for saying how she really felt despite being taken out of a home.

I say no. But I do think that the states should pay for child care services though.

i know there is a jw somewhere saying this is the work of jehovah.
i think it's hilarious.
dolphman-
I thought the article says that some other guy was hit twice.
Jim Caviezel is a good actor. I liked him in Frequency and High Crimes.
Remember when the JWs were saying that Richard Pryor caught on fire because of the movie "Wholly Moses"?

nobody told me said:
MY LIFE IMPROVED WHEN I STOPPED STUDYING WITH JWs
I'll toast to THAT!
one day three chinese guys, bu,
and fu emigrated to us.. as they were in they decided to "americanize" their names.
bu became buck.
Ok. Now I get it. At first, I thought you were trying to tell a riddle.
Now that you have it up correctly, it's pretty funny.
Tell Fu that he can always change his name to Funchback.

Theres plenty of people who are screwed up and whose lives are in the gutter who change their lives.... AFTER they leave the JW's...(like me). Never been happier than when I found freedom from religion, the bible, and GOD. I'd like to hear how do they explain that one?
No JW could expalin it, of course. But the WTS would insist that you are really NOT happy, that you are misguided or blinded or, better yet, a lover of pleasure rather than a lover of the Watchtower Society God.
