For me, the opposite was true. I stopped believing in demons almost immediately after I bounced from the JW's, and now I don't have fear to be alone in the dark. As a JW, I was a grown azz man afraid of the dark.

But to each his/her own. I am simply answering your questions that I personally don't believe in demons.

Oh, and I can't even enjoy seeing a good supernatural flick like Poltergeist or The Ring because they are nothing more than special effects created by humans. But, as a JW, having the mentality of a JW caused me to be soooo scared to see those types movies, like I was watching demons themselves. Now I can sit through any supernatural movie without fear, but that has also robbed me of feeling the suspense, simply because I don't believe in it anymore.

Anyway, I hope I'm not being too confusing...LOL!

ok so i am a ex-witness,(disfellowshiped) i have posted here before...but i must say why have'nt we moved on?

come on i mean if we all really thought that the jw sect was just that then why are we not trying to forget it and let life go on as it has; and try to be true to ourselves and our neighbor and read jesus words as recorded in the bible?

i have been reading my bible on lunch breaks at my work, as well as reading in the dhammapada.

UNITED NATIONS -- The Latvian and Thai candidates dropped out of the race to become the next U.N. chief on Thursday, leaving South Korea's foreign minister as the lone remaining contender and near-certain successor to Kofi Annan.

Latvian President Vaira Vike-Frieberga's candidacy was formally withdrawn in a letter to Japan's ambassador to the U.N., the Security Council president for October. In Bangkok, interim Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont said Surakiart Sathirathai, the Thai deputy foreign minister and first person to announce his candidacy, was leaving the race, too.

"It is like when we play football," Mr. Surayud said. "When we go to the final round and know that we are going to lose, we have to accept it."

That reflected the consensus that South Korean Foreign Minster Ban Ki Moon will become the eighth secretary-general in the 61-year history of the U.N. His ascendancy to the post was all but assured on Monday, when he demolished the other candidates in an informal poll of the U.N. Security Council.

Mr. Ban won 14 favorable votes and one of no opinion, and even more importantly, he got the support of the council's five veto-wielding nations. All the other candidates had at least one veto.

Shortly after that poll, the Security Council announced it would hold a formal vote next Monday to nominate the new secretary-general. That nomination would then go before the 192-member General Assembly, which traditionally agrees without debate.

Mr. Annan steps down on Dec. 31 after two five-year terms.

Tragic couple's triplets joy A CITY couple who experienced the heartache of losing a baby a year ago have just become the proud parents of triplets. Jehovah's Witnesses Jamie and Zoe Collick were eagerly looking forward to the birth of their third child, Izabella, last October, but what should have been a day of celebration became a day of mourning when baby Iza was stillborn.

Despite her death, the couple decided to try for another baby and a few months later Zoe, aged 33, became pregnant once again.

But no-one in the family was prepared for the surprise news from medical staff – not only was she pregnant – it was triplets. (Of course, the triplets will never replace the loss of Izabella. But, it depends on who you ask. If you are to believe the book of Job, God simply 'blessed' Job with 10 new and improved children to replace the ones who died as a result of a bet between J-Ho and Lucifer).

Zoe said: "We were so apprehensive and nervous when we went for the scan, because the one before that had been for Izabella. We were gobsmacked." (Do people actually still say 'gobsmacked'?).

"The woman who was doing the ultrasound first said it was twins and then she checked again and told us it was triplets. We were standing there with our mouths wide open."

Now three weeks after the birth of Jessica, Ellie and Neave, the family are approaching the anniversary of baby Izabella's death with renewed hope. (Here comes the set-up...)

The death of baby Izabella came shortly after the couple moved to their new home in Conniburrow. "We had come here two months before," said Zoe.

"When I finally went into labour with Iza, the doctors couldn't find a heartbeat. I tried to get on with things afterwards as I am quite a positive person, and a few months later we tried again. We really wanted a little girl but we had no idea we would end up with three!"

The babies, who were conceived without IVF, were born in hospital in Northampton. The couple, along with their two sons, Lewis, aged seven, and Daniel, 16, are getting used a family which has ballooned to twice its original size.

They may all have the same looks, but their parents are already noticing differences in personality among the three girls.

Jamie said: "Jessica is quite noisy and fidgety, Ellie seems very laid back and Neave is very observant and wants to know what is going on all the time." (My money is on Neave as to who will be a future member of JW.com because the kid seems to be a free thinker!)

But even as the tired couple talk proudly about the new additions to their family, Jamie saves his final thoughts for Iza.
"We will obviously be remembering her on the anniversary of her death. It's something in our lives that has made us stronger." (So the miracle of birth, let alone triplets, is not celebrated. Rather, the death of Izabella is commemorated. Why not do both? This is one bizarre religion. I don't know how I was conned all those years. )

MESQUITE - A North Texas woman says she's in a battle over the "Happy Birthday" song after she refused to sing it at her work.

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, "Happy Birthday" is the most popular song in the English language. People who work at the Razzoo's in Mesquite probably wouldn't be too surprised to hear that since they find themselves singing it daily for customers.

Sabrina Balentine, 19, was among those who worked at the restaurant.

"She happens to be a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses," said Toby Costas, an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission attorney representing Balentine.

As a Jehovah Witness, Balentine said she can't sing the birthday song.

"Birthday celebrations, we believe, are spoken of against in the bible, and holiday celebrations...," said John Priester, Jehovah's Witness elder.

"It's not for everybody," said one Razzoo's worker. "You have to respect their choices."

But Balentine said her bosses would not compromise.

"They suggested, 'Could you just clap and smile along with everybody else near the table and not actually sing the birthday song?'" Costas said. "But even that is contrary to the beliefs of her religion."

Costas said Balentine was fired and the business discriminated against her because of her religion.

In a statement, Razzoo's said the company does not discriminate on the basis of religion and that, "the company attempted to work with her to accommodate her beliefs, but the fact is that she chose to quit her employment."

Balentine said she has gone on to work at another restaurant.

a member of another conservative cult (calls itself a bible fellowship) where i work told me that hormel, the makers of canned chili and other foods, is run by homosexuals, and that i shouldn't buy or eat their products.

i asked how the bedroom practices of the company owners or employees affected the quality of the food?

their reply was that "everything gives off something" and that the food would be tainted by some kind of deviant unnatural vibes because the owners/employees were deviant and following an unnatural lifestyle.

Someone needs to tell these jerk's off! Those old wanker's in Brooklyn. I can say one thing, though, that I like about Bethel: You sure can't beat their meat that they serve at dinner. But, it's always something with the WTBTS. Masturbation, mental abuse, and child spanking. The monkey world sometimes practices masturbation.
