  3. Nigerian Fee ScamThis is an oldie, and a real baddie.
  
  The basic line goes like this:

  "I represent some high mucky muck who wants to get a lot of suspicious money out of my country, and we need help from you to do it. We'll pay you stupid amounts of cash to be a front person."

  The system escalates until you've got money sunk into the scam, and they want you to visit the country in question in person. There have been people who played along with this and never made it home alive.
  
  Originally this was focused through Nigeria, but with recent events, you may hear about Taliban leaders wanting help, or people from other war-torn countries.
  
  Don't respond to these people in any way. People die falling for this one.

  well, i was supposed to have 24 hour duty today.

  i went home for supper and the wife was there, supper done, looking at her wrist.

  i saw a red mark, i pressed her about it.

  My mother

  forgive me just really venting here.

  as some of you may know my mom suffered an accident about 1 month ago, she fell down a flight of stairs.

  luckily she didnt break anything, she just had a minor concussion and some stitches on her head.

  Soledad, I understand your frustation. My ex was like that.

  My sons complained that they could not have a normal conversation because she filtered everything through a Watchtower filter. She is still like that to an extent.

  Skeptic: Even in a small city like Saskatoon, KHs were subject to vandalism. . . broken windows, theft, graffiti. . .We had an older kh, before the "quick build" days, and it had windows. . .some of the time. As the windows got broken, they were boarded up and not replaced. . . due to the vandalism.

  ESTEE,

  The hall I was married in had windows too. A thief broke a window and stole the sound system. So, we bought a better one. A week or two after the sound system was replaced, a thief broke a window again and stole the sound system a second time!

  After that, we put bars on the windows. It looked like a jail, but what can you do?

  One Kingdom Hall in a town I lived in saved a man's life. His snowmobile broke through the ice in bitterly cold weather....he crawled out of the water, soaked to the skin....he broke a window at the KH and climbed inside until he was warm again. It saved his life. He contacted the brothers and offered to pay for the window.

  LOL! Mac and Aztec crack me up!

  Thereare no windows on KHs for several reasons....it is easier to build a hall when there is no windows, and it helps prevent vandalism and theft. Thieves like to steal the sound systems.
