Go on a Alcoholics Anonymous site and tell everybody that you happen to like to drink beer, wine and hard liquor. See how they'll respond.
I am sure that their reaction would be understandable, but it still would not be appropriate. Should such a poster (assuming he is not trying to make reformed alcoholics drink booze) be ragged for stating that some alcohol is OK for a non-alcoholic? ScoobySnax has not tried to bring anyone back to the Dubs....nor has he attempted to defend the Dubs....he simply likes them and still believes some/all of their teachings. What is wrong with simply stating that?

ScoobySnax,
Sometimes I wonder if you start these threads to troll, but I will assume you are sincere. I enjoy having you on this forum, and I can tell you like the JWs. I am glad that your JW experience was good.
Everyone Else,
Hamas should not have been rude, but he did revoke the comment.
ScoobySnax's experience with the JWs was pleasant. Live with it and be thankful that one person had a positive JW experience.
I think Scooby provides some needed balance on this forum. Scooby has made no pretense at having a reason for liking the JWs, other than that he does. If everyone here was 120% rabidly anti-JW, that would be a problem.

new light on churches??
by gspradling inmy very jw mother went to my daughter's wedding in a mainstream church this summer.
this is the first time i ever remember her going into a church.
she refused to attend my wedding in a methodist church and also my brother's in a mainstream church.

I became a Dub in '81 and we were allowed to attend weddings and funerals at other Churches, as long as we did not partcipate in anything religious, like praying or kneeling. Basically, the JWs just sit there listening respectfully. Some older Witnesses would still refuse to attend such weddings, a hangover from previous "truths".
So, although there used to be a hard and fast rule about attending weddings, there has not been one for at least 20 years.

If there was nothing wrong with being an NGO of the UN, then why did the Society remove its NGO status after their NGO status was publicized?

Your Ideal Partner...
by Gadget indr pawlowski from wroclaw university, poland, has found that the perfect height ratio to find your ideal partner.
aparently the man should be 1.09x taller than the woman.
this would give my ideal partner height at 5ft, which more than half of my girlfriends have been!!!.

Well...I'm 5'2", and I've always been attracted to men 5'9" or taller. I find I don't gravitate towards shorter men....
My dreams are now crushed, for I am only 5' 6". ::sigh::

The Preaching Work Is A Scam
by minimus ini'd like to know what you think of the "all important, life saving preaching work".
even if this preaching was considered a success, it would not be able to save the billions of people on this earth.
recently, my mother told me how she believe that jehovah god is patiently keeping the door open, since every year, new ones come into the "truth".

The door to door work is really a worthless effort.
Not at all to the WTBS. The door-to-door work is an almost cost-free magazine sales and distribution system. The movement of magazines generates enormous revenues for the WTBS. (The congregations are billed for the "free" literature, not to mention donations made by the brothers and householders - ever wonder at the weird donation amounts that the congregation gives to the WTBS?.)
Other businesses, such as Amway, use a similar no-cost distribution system.
