My mother had to get my father to sign a letter stating that he had been unfaithful throughout their ENTIRE marriage in order for the elders to consider her to be free to marry. They would not accept one that admitted just to cheating. It had to specify 'throughout the ENTIRE marriage'. She was told by another sister in the hall whose unbelieving husband gambled away everything they had and she wanted to escape him to marry a 'brother'. She did as they asked. My dad signed it and she has been free to marry for 16 years now. It amazes me the control they can have over a person.

That one is disturbing. I told my 12 year old daughter about it and her mouth fell open. She said,'That's so sad!'. "Out of the mouth of babes".

Overlapping Generation
by pandorasbox1914 inthe september 2015 broadcast had david splane explain matthew 24:34 “truly, i say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place”.
his explanation of this scripture was by means of a chart to indicate an overlapping generation.. .
no scripture was used to show the overlapping generation concept, and as a result it makes no sense.. to illustrate how crazy this concept is, look at the lyrics of the song my generation.. my generation.

Better preach hard, because very few kids born into the truth are left. Time to recruit younger families with small kids. Gotta get them baptized before they realize what they are doing.

I was thinking the same thing! More people at one bigger place will bring in more money for less. Is this the one where they are encouraging the shunning stronger?

I noticed the shrinking of the magazines too. I read how much money they are set to make by selling properties in NY in The New York Times. They bought the one for 3 million, I think; and are set to sell it for around a Billion. I wonder how they are planning to explain to the Bethelites who have been laid off as to why they can't help them with their retirement. They gave their youth to Jehovah and now get to go job hunting.
