just curious...after a long discussion with my mother on her 34 year career as a faithful jw, i asked her how many people she brought in, not counting my sister, myself, my father?

4 in 34 years.

since i started going door to door at age 5 until age 18, i never had a bible study with anyone.

Unfortunately, I brought in 1. And quite ridiculously, she just got baptized so we could be friends. Now she is full fledged JW. Calles me an apostate and everything.
It makesme quite sad to think sometimes, that i thought I was gaining a friend by bringing her in, but in the end, I lost a friend by bringing her in.

tonite's news report on the fires which are devastating sydney and much of new south wales includes this scary item:.

bushfires have trapped coastal residents on nsw beaches for a second day as authorities called for two more 'elvis' helitankers to help battle the raging infernos devastating nsw.. about 2,000 residents from bendalong and berringer lake on the nsw south coast were evacuated to the beach as a fire that destroyed about up to 20 houses on wednesday night in nearby sussex inlet headed their way.. they were trapped on the beach with wildfires cutting off all road access, according to shoalhaven rural fire service spokeswoman june webster.. "there's only one road out to the highway and that's ringed with fire.

they can't get out," she said.. on wednesday night 5,000 residents of sussex inlet were forced to huddle on the beach as parts of their town were turned to ashes by the same fire.

Please help me understand a JW dream

please help me understand this jw dream.. my therapist once told me that dreams are one of the ways that our subconscious mind have of telling us something emotionally urgent about ourselves.

as i had a dream last night that really aroused my feelings, i was wondering if anyone cared to take a stab at what it is trying to tell me?.

the dream.... i find myself at an indoor circuit assembly.

Head coverings, prayer and women

is the wts view on women praying publically still the same as it was in the 70s?

the article "should you cover your head during prayer" watchtower 2/15/77 page 46 and a "question from readers" 6/15/77 are the last references i have to this particular jw custom.. has anything more recent been published?.

I always loved that they could use anything to cover their heads, ie: a cloth diaper, a tissue, toilet paper, a coat...
I thought, I am sure that God finds this much more disrespectful than a bare head!

Where do the gb stay?????

i have always wondered just where the speakers from bethel, and just where do the gb members stay when they are at district assassinations, er well you know and cas.

do they stay in modest motels hotels or do their setttings have to be in 5 star hotels?????.

(like in only the very best will do)just a questions i've always had.

Concept of There Being A God

is it possible for the human mind to really understand what god is?.

think about all those trillions of centries that god was alone, with no need for a language, as there were no objects to name, no one to converse with, nothing to do.

there were no subjects to hate and kill, no one to love and bless, no satan opposer to battle, sort of like being dead.

I agree that one would indeed gop insane if forced to contemplate this for any extended amount of time.
Just look at the zombies sitting int he KH....:)
I at this point, am undecided as to how I feel about God, and his existance, or non-existance, whichever the case may be.
I see some things, and think, certainly, he must exist. Then I turn around and see something else, and think, surely he doesnt.
One of my non jw friends once said that he thought GOd was bored, and so he created Adam and Eve with the plan that they would sin. He never intended for the whole earth, and its population to be perfect. He thinks they were set up for the fall...
But, obviously, if God does exist, he is perfect, and thus would never get bored, imho....
maybe thats why death is so scary, only then will we find out the truth. I hated living my life according to "What IF???"
So, here I am, living my life, still not knowing...argh.
It is indeed a frustrating and annoying concept to try to figure out.
