Ray Franz---A Man We Owe Our Thanks To
by minimus ini've been thinking of how all of our lives have changed from learning about this religion and getting out.
probably no one has done more to help us understand the truth about "the truth" than raymond franz.
of course there were others that questioned dates, prophecies and dogma but it was ray franz that revolutionized the organization.

Ok maybe I'm wrong but don't copyright laws differ, depending on the medium and purpose involved. I'm sure you are allowed to quote a certain percentage of any written work. And that various laws around the world are favorable, toward quoting when it is needed to defend an aurgument or to prove a certain veiwpoint wrong. Newspapers and scientific journals and books do so all the time, as does the watchtower society itself in when disscusing pagan beliefs. Also anyone can use any meta tags they want, the aurgument that people looking for watchtower, would by default be looking for favorable information toward the religious is wrong, as there are many millions who would want to know aurguments against the watchtower for religious purposes, and their own defence if called on by Jehovahs witnesses. Also what other kind of meta tags could you use, they would have to be related to the subject at had, you would hardly use the word "cat" for example.

"its the attitude guys.If some goodish looking person walks down the steet and shouts out "look I'm so good looking," we would all take the piss. You quoted me saying there was a flag on 1 out of 20 homes I saw, then said the above in response to it" No I almost choked on my coffee in responce to what you said....because 1 in 20 is loooooooooads of homes. The rest of my statement was in reply to the thread in general. For some reason my posts get bunched up into one paragraph must be because I use a Mac.

Nothing to do with being politically correct just common sense. As it happens as a country I prefer England to Wales, but would always support a Welsh sports team against England.Any belief system that is held purely on the basis of place of birth, whether religion or nationalism is wreakless, and can in fact cause problems as both religion and nationalism have in the past.People kill each other because of where they were born. Its pathetic.National pride, and nationalism are different things in my view, when you start boasting to others about your country without acknowleging other countries thats nationalism, mentioning the merits of you country while acknowledging the merits of others is national pride. Its nationalism that can become dangerous in times of crisis.

""Glad I don't live in YOUR country" with " I certainly do feel this way" Came across as an absolute statment, about all other countries.Of course theres places I'd rather not live, but I have to acknowledge that if I was born elsewhere I would have developed a different world view, and may prefer a different country of residence.

"This attitude always surprises me. If I say "my daughter is so beautiful" am I implying your daughter is not, or that my daughter is the only beautiful girl in the world?" Actually you would be if you said it in front of someone elses daugther and didn't ALSO acknowledge the beauty of the other girl. "I wonder if your sensitivity to "the land of the free" is because that freedom is from your very own country"not at all. All former British colonies are free from British rule, that is not what is implied by the statement anymore.

"Glad I don't live in YOUR country" I certainly do feel this way... as do most people from any given country." Is what you said, and I feel there is something wrong with THAT sentiment.

"I certainly do feel this way... as do most people from any given country." Thats a very childish way to think, don't you think, just like being born into a religion I thinking its the ONLY true one.
