  The watchtower Aug 1, 2001 said "a mature Christian...does not advocate or insist on personnal opinions or harbour private ideas when it comes to bible understanding"
  I thought you said God gave us a mind to think for ourselves.
  Sorry what I think you ment was God gave us a mind to think only what the watchtower and tract society of New york allows us to think.

  Er, see the above, I dont think you'll find the aug 1 , watchtower statment in the bible.

  ok ok ok so i stole englishman's phrasing.. one thing i'd been noticing about a certain troll's posts, they seem to center around personal accomplishments.. perhaps, that's not such a bad thing.

  this person obviously isn't getting any encouragement to pursue "selfish desires" by the congregation, therefore he and others feel the need to go bragging.. growing up jw doesn't exactly encourage your creativity; on the contrary it stifles artistic expression and personal growth.. so perhaps there is something that *you* can do very well (or not so well but it's still your thang as jt would say) that is very special.. we all know that dave (seven) is great at art, and tr can pick any damn lock he chooses, but what about the rest of us?.

  why do so many people feel the need to base their life on a person, they have never met, did not write any of the works on his life, and has enormous claims made about him that can not be proved to be true?.

  sounds just like following the governing body of jehovahs witnesses to me.. can anyone give me a good reason for me putting trust in this man?

  Ah you,re all too good.
  Most people count three, as when you read you skip over joining words like of.
  When I've actually shown it to people and stood there with them they have allways counted 3.

  Anyone here into vinyl?

  anyone here into vinyl?.

  no this is nothing pervy.. i'm in a musical mood today and one of my passions is buying records.. (not collecting records as i actually buy them to listen to).

  i still buy records on vinyl rather than cd when i can, the packaging is much better and if you have a good record player so is the sound.. it getting hard to find much nowadays in a lot of record stores.. theres an excellent record shop near me though that stocks a ton of the stuff.now wheres all my wages gone?

  Yeh records are more hastle than CD's.
  You do have to work harder to get it right but when you do you'ed be very suprised at the results.And its not just warmer but more realistic over all .
  The skills needed to set up a tutntable well are quite rare so most people don't hear them at their best.
  Oh yeh good record player cost a lot.
