birthday...

its my birthday friday!

i have a bunch of "worldly" friends that i really care about and they are all planning on taking me out but i hesitate...i just only recently within the last 2 years started taking active interest in my birthday so i only have a minimal idea of what to feel...i know i will go out and get trashed and plastered but i want to know what it feels like...i dont know if this post makes any sense haha i think i'm gonna just drink myself into a nice stupor and pass out somewhere hahaha...any tips or advice from anybody here?

I second Xena's motion. I think that in honor of the oldest remaining poster on the board and the first to achieve the honor of most addicted to the board, the title for 5000 and over (the final title) should be Waiting One. I think that's slick.

hey everyone...i'm new here and i thought i'd give you my story.. i was raised in "the truth".

my mother is still a witness of over 25 years, and a pioneer for over 10. my father is not in the truth.

he was supportive of my mother in her pioneering and everything, and he used to come to meetings occasionally when i was younger, but started coming less and less until he only came to the memorials.

Witnesses are coming to my door Sunday!

after all if what these people say is true then anybody that dosent know what it is in deep trouble.

I have to admit, I thought you were in full Troll mode with this one until you stated that no JW would sit through all of those questions.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I think that you have an opening with them.

What to do, what to do.

Start slow, go with only absolutely verifiable material. Try to stick with only stuff that they can verify on the CD. Hammer the Generation change, the voting change in '99. Stuff THEY can look up.

Remember that most congregation library's have been cleaned out and that even if they haven't, they will get questioned for being too obvious about looking up the old publications.

Have a computer in the room. Look up the Quotes website in front of them. Print it out in front of them. Make them bring the Proclaimers book and start with that. Go over it line by line. First educate THEM regarding their own history. That way, you will have a base to attack them from.

I'm positive that after the Proclaimer book they will be reeling.

However, I don't think that they will be back either.

I'm addicted!!!

i'm supposed to be working, but can't seem to get away from this freakin' board!!!

can anyone help me or give advice as to how they limit their time here.

i do really well when i'm out of the office meeting with clients, but when i'm at my desk i'm a lost cause.. simon, i can't get enough of your place!!!

newsflash!! WTBS CD-ROM 2001

yesterday an announcement was made at my local con.

and i thought i`d share it.. the watchtower announced that work on the new cd-rom is in progress and we can expect it at the end of this year.. unlike the other versions you can`t get away with win 3.1, you`ll now need at least win95.. available languages: the one already available + tjech and japanese.. some of it`s features:.

- one window (instead of several).

Does anyone else get the feeling that the only reason they seem to be tightening up their distribution of written material is to tighten their grip on the members they already have?

It seems pretty obvious to me that is indeed what they are doing. Subscriptions are over, CD now only available to members in "good standing".

Think about it. They are VERY effective at getting people brainwashed/hooked quickly. So door to door, "informal", typical biblestudies are very effective at bringing the weak into the organization. There is very little need to put their information out there for "opposers" to pick apart and use against them.

I think it's very obvious that they are once again tightening their control on their members by only giving THEM the information but letting them think that the information is still getting out to the worldly people by the preaching work.
