I'm skeptical of that claim. What evidence did the podcast present for that position? I've seen and heard people speak in tongues who weren't using shrooms. Shrooms never made me speak in tongues either...

The social fact of BC/AD (or BCE/CE) has nothing to do with whether Jesus existed or not. Josephus was tampered with, Tacticus is just repeating what Christians were saying, same for Celsus, etc. Do you have any better proof for this Jesus' guys existence? The gospels don't count.

when you look back , did your witness associates act like normal human beings?

did any of them ever show compassion and feelings for a disfellowshipped person?.

any elders ever try to be kind to you, not “kind” as watchtower organization dictates, but truly kind and caring for you if you were experiencing difficulties?

Bethelout?

the sunday speaker was one of those very smooth younger ones with the "look".

store bought haircut and a very pretty wife ( the kind that makeup isn't needed, side point).. i tongue tied a comment to my wife about maybe he was a bethelite who was reassigned and said bethelout by mistake.

i like the word.

Non Believers, how do you respond ?

i recently had this in a message from a jw, a lovely person, but mind controlled, he wrote " a life without hope is no life for me".. how should i respond to that ?

i am an atheist, but want to respond in as kindly a way as possible.. i was thinking along the lies of saying i got no comfort from what i knew to be false hope, but need to say it in a kindly way.. ideas please ?.

We have hope too. We have different hopes, but hope in real things, in real people, in real opportunities. We do not live our lives for empty promises, empty hopes that will never come to be.
