Music you never noticed was ...
by nibbled ini have friends in very cool jobs.
my world interacts quite often with music stars, and i have interesting conversations.
for instance, i was talking with the members of animal kingdom, and asked the lead singer about the lyrics i picked up while listening them perform for the group a few minutes earlier... i felt stupid because i hadn't realized the name of the song, and only had caught a few lyrics... he wrote of mephistopheles.

Ink Void noticed JW's were religious, but we thought they might be a blend of older religions mixed with a version of newcomer religion Christianity. So we gave them a song. Kind of the other way round to the OP, but hope you like it anyhow:

Thanks all.
Hope you enjoy and these are some use in reflecting back on thoe harder days past when we believed what the Watchtower wrote. This was an earlier tune remembering how the children fared as they grew up and grew old as Witnesses.

Thanks NewChapter! Yes, 'tear your little boy apart' just cried out for MJ! Hope it that was as tasteful as possible in all the circumstances. I enjoy reading your posts and pretty much always agree with you! (Mutual admiration over... :-)
I saw the Momentary Lapse of Reason concert (sans Waters) and it remains the best concert I've seen. I saw a tribute band (The PF Experience) a while ago and that was absolutely fantastic and they got the whole idea of it perfectly. Even 'the scream' (there is only one) was perfect! I wanted to see the recent Waters tour, but it just cost far too much. Amused to Death was fantastic and just a great album, but Pros and Cons and Radio KAOS were a bit much for me. I've actually preferred Gilmour solo overall. Maybe the band constrained the younger Waters’ creativity to his benefit sometimes. Apart from what I think was the trio of classic albums (Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here and The Wall), I really liked The Final Cut (which was really Waters) and Animals. The See Emily Play video was on MTV a few times recently: that was fun.
I just about lived for Pink Floyd as a kid: the themes matched my feelings about the JW life pretty much perfectly – as Spiritual Mother demonstrates. It remains my go to music and the mainstay of the music I listen to regularly on my phone.

Here's a pretty good cover of Mother (on The Wall) by the Brit Floyd tribute band for fun.
And here's a reworded JW version of Mother... I hope it's stayed true to the themes of dispair and lost hopes of the original song.

... that's what 3mozzies posted about this original song and video* on YouTube. Only 110 views so far from JWD out of 340 views so far, hence another plug for the upcoming weekend! It'd be great to get a few bumps and bttt if you like the movie. (Thanks wannabefree and others on a previous thread kindly started by Cedars).
You'll see a history of the Witnesses as the Watchtower Society's writings have affected them: children and people of all ages growing up and growing older believing they've found the elusive truth and a special place in the world. A pivotal role in the universal issue of sovereignty, no less!
But what they've really received is entry to an authoritarian world of ever changing and always difficult rules and policies that just always seem to work out better for someone (or something) else. Whichever continent you're from and from whichever time period, the Watchtower had something to cause you a problem. Mob violence in North America. The holocaust in Europe. Being asked to watch life bleed away from your children or yourself to hold up some dodgy and complicated interpretation of a few simple scriptures. Institutionally inadequate responses to criminal child abusers. Conservative values enforced for everyone, like it or not. The faithful carry on: the awakened don't.
All those things are in this video with a Witness asking his Spiritual Mother just what she's up to. As loosie put it, it "puts shit in perspective". 'Disturbing' said panhandlegirl.
Please watch, share and comment!

New sad song: 0940 Our Spiritual Mother
by 9.40am inyou might like our new song on you tube titled '0940 our spiritual mother' about the experience her 'children' have had as jehovah's witnesses.
it's a reworded version of mother (pink floyd) set to new and historic watchtower images.. some who've already seen it have been kind enough to describe it as 'incredibly sad', 'powerful' and even 'poignant'.

Thanks for all the comments here and on YouTube!
InkVoid is a collaboration of two third generation born-in JWs who left several years ago; we got together recently and this song was the product and the video followed. Now it's out for others to see.
What I like is that the lyrics and images seem to work together to carry a history of the faithful Jehovah's Witnesses around the world following the Watchtower Society's various teachings as they've changed over the years. Too often the JWs have suffered for the Watchtower's bluster including with their life, dignity and peace of mind. And it's great guitar too! (Not by me!)
