I think it would give me flashbacks. PTSD. How awful. Last time was Memorial 2007.

Have you ever gone back to a meeting out of curiosity?
by stuckinarut2 injust wondering if anyone has gone back to a meeting out of curiosity?
(perhaps to an area far from your old khall where you know no one).
with all the changes from 2012 onwards (videos, tv screens, new meeting format, new songs etc) it would be an odd experience to be in attendance!.

Another Aspect from which to View Prostitution
by fulltimestudent inif we put on our western cultural (you know, the ones that say jesus made the world) eye-glasses we will 'see' prostitution as something bad.. the 'christian' influenced view is that prostitution is a criminal racket run by gangsters, and the women (and sometimes men) have either been bullied by their pimps, or drugged until they become addicts and forced to work in brothels.**.
some of that is likely true (at times), but is it always 'truth'?.
australia's government owned abc media network, has an article that invites us to take off our western cultural eye-glasses and see the world as it really is.

Some of that is likely true (at times), but is it always 'truth'?You've got it completely backwards.
The truth is that prostitution was almost always and everywhere legal until women got the right to vote in the 20th century.
Even in the church-dominated middle ages it was tolerated because the alternatives to making it illegal were considered worse.

IMO, they went at it all wrong during the SOTU speech. My wife (who has no political opinions) was disturbed at the attitude Pelosi and Company openly displayed towards the "office of the Presidency", saying they should repect the "position" even if not the man. And there is a lot of that being said in the news today.
And then there was Joe Manchin (D-WV).
Joe Manchin: Democrats were 'wrong' to sit for Trump's speech

I am out of the WBTS and free. No one will ever tell me how to think.
And Hothbanero, For you sake if this rule of 1 man in DC continues..... I hope YOU are financially secure.... I am.
If you are not.... your fuckedThe caricature some people who hate Trump on this board love to use--calling others "cultists"-- is getting old and tiresome. Merely by using it, hyperbolic blowhard losers think they've won the argument.
By now, using "cult mentality," "you're still mentally in the Organization," or "you're in a cult" snark to defuse counter arguments is a stupid person's tactic.
It's only deployed by dumb, shallow thinking people who don't have a lot to go on other than their depressive insecure feelings and the toll that being rudderless antisocial ex-cult members has taken on them.

Ayahuasca The Soul Herb
by new boy ini'm writing this tread for the people out there that are still looking for some kind of answers.
people who feel the void that any organized thought system can produce.
people who know there is more to this life than our daily routine which eventually will end, when we no longer exist.

You really don't have to go to Peru to do it. You just need a MAOI and DMT. Caapi vine and psychotria viridis is a traditional combo, but there are others that include stuff like Syrian Rue, or you can do it with synthetics AKA "pharmahuasca."

Cool thread. I grew my own mushrooms right after I faded out. Gave me a different perspective on things.

Jesus Heals a Man in a Healing Temple Dedicated to the Pagan God Asclepiuss
by fulltimestudent ini'm sure that christian apologists could invent all kind of reasons for jesus to enter such a temple, but this story also.
begs the question, as to why so many jews were waiting in that temple for asclepius to heal them?.
but we should read the account in john 5:1-4 first:.
