Are you sure? Their number seems to increase every year. I'm looking forward to the day when the number of participants at the memorial reaches 144,001.
what new light from jehovah did you find hard to swallow?.
the conversations in the attached video are enlightening.
the graphic is hilarious.. https://youtu.be/byj3zrpbuvg.

the cult's dogma claims the exodus foreigners were not participants of the law covenant and use it is an antitype to prove the “other sheep” are not participants of the new covenant - wt 98 2/1 p.19, par.
6. their demonic dogma is then enforced annually via the org's anti-christ ritual - the memorial of christ's death - to compel jw's to reject christ and the new covenant.. deuteronomy 29:10-15 screams “liars” & "offspring of vipers" at the watchtower hierarchy!.
are jw's too blinded to read and understand the bible for themselves????????????.
BoogerMan: Are JW's too blinded to read and understand the Bible for themselves????????????
Too afraid. Remember that the WTS makes it clear that only the GB can interpret scripture and that anyone who does so on their own is at risk of disfellowshipping, possibly for apostasy. Thinking for yourself is a sure way to get kicked out of a cult.

I recall when there was an attempt to claim that his YouTube income was sufficient to cover his visits to sex workers. This was after the livestream. But in his livestream (which was on YouTube) he never mentioned his YT income. He said that he did not have to account for how he spent the money he was given, in response to people who were referring to Patreon, not YT. He implied that his "earnings" were like those of any salaried worker, his to do with as he pleased.
If he, or his supporters, want to pretend that he wasn't using Patreon funds to pay hookers for sex (or "dates" ) then they're ignoring the way he spoke about it in his livestream. Only afterwards, when the realization hit that his patrons might not see it the same way, did anyone try to make it seem as if he only used other funds to pay for sex.
in the us, the 60s and 70s was a great time to be alive except for getting drafted if you wanted to be that age.
they were music years, greatest movies, fun, simpler and enjoyable days—also except for the d&ugs.
.
I enjoyed the 90s and early aughts, they seem more carefree to me than the present day, though I feel I am much better off now than I was then. I think those years were when political correctness began to run amok and the two political parties in the USA began to form a very clear and aggressive division between them, almost demanding that people choose one side or another instead of focusing on individual issues.
But there was still pushback to those ideas and it felt more free at the time. We were as close to an imperfect balance as we might ever be, now it seems as if we're waiting for one party to overthrow the other and take the country down with it.
Also, I was younger...

This seems to be an attitude that hasn't changed since very early in the organization's history. Wasn't it Russell who told readers that they were better off reading his Studies in the Scriptures than they were reading the Bible itself? I mean, he pretty much said that if you only read the Bible, you'd "fall into darkness" after some time, or words to that effect. It's no surprise that they eventually decided on using their own translation of the Bible.
the english legal system's independent inquiry into child sexual abuse has issued its final report, and its recommendations.
to read the report in full just google iicsa report, if you search on the iicsa site you can find the specific investigation into j.w's.. but this recommendation from the final report is interesting, esp.
the first and last sentences.
A tax on those institutions that ignored the issue, in effect. It's one way to get them to take real action: hit them in the wallet. Especially those institutions that are usually tax exempt and try to hide their perfidy behind rules and rituals.
while disfellowshipping was doubled down on and reinforced during the time of raymond franz, it definitely existed before that when needed and fits right in with rutherford's personality.
here's an account of norman woodworth who left for dawn bible students, and his proto-judicial committee.
all the modern hallmarks of apostasy trials are there, from the witch-hunt nature to the big all-important gotcha question at the end:.
Interesting, that they convened a board of directors and basically told this fellow that they were God's organization. I didn't realize how much today's GB mirrored the early organization. Russell and Rutherford left a deeper impression than I had thought.
anyone who works with children and does not report child sexual abuse should be prosecuted, the final report of a huge, seven-year inquiry has recommended.. this could be huge for elders in the uk.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-63318342.
I think people and organizations will find ways to try to get around any law, but I think in this case the act of charging someone with failure to report is significant in itself. Once the charges are out, the individual (and the organization, most likely) needs to respond, and any attempts at legal maneuvering will be reported. With the WTS, you can be sure that they will get involved immediately in order to protect itself, and hopefully this is where the media spotlight will be shined.
We know that CSA happens and that it happens with horrifying frequency. And we know that there are organizations -including some large religious organizations- that are so determined to protect themselves that they will discard any notion of justice and leave victims strewn about. The most effective way to deal with this problem is to shine a bright light on them when they are acting this way, to shame them into putting the safety and health of children first. The goal is to get these organizations to make it a clear policy to their members-- always report it. The child comes first.

Didn't the report recommend a law mandating reporting of CSA? Or is the complaint that they did not specify penalties for failing to report it?
let me explain :.
after the creation account of the bible, tribes of people and nations began to form and spread around the land.. god first chose noah and his family to protect them as he destroys all others in the flood.. and he ticks off everyone in babel ?
and then he favours abraham and his descendants as the nation of israel culminating in the jewish lineage to jesus the son of god.. he has never had any dealings with any other people`s or nation isn`t that some form of favouritism ?
The Biblical God's methods are frequently brutal. We can make an argument that He has the right to be so, but I can't see another way to describe it. Ruthlessly efficient, in some cases, but still brutal.
