I'm wondering how such a thing would be verified. Apparently it wasn't unique to Bible writers to ascribe very long lifespans to people in the past. How do we confirm that people lived to 900+ years at one time? How do we confirm that they did (or didn't) live tens of thousands of years?

The cherry on top would be if Tony Morris joined the "tight pants" patron level.

Is the USA gradually moving to a majority of citizens being non-religious
by Reasonfirst inthis is a topic discussed in a current article in the hongkong based asia times*.
find it at: https://asiatimes.com/2023/09/nones-still-no-match-for-us-christian-nationalism/.
the claim is made in the article, that near 30% of americans are non-believers, and that this number is increasing.

It's a double-edged sword, in that religion fosters a sense of community and belonging, but only to the specific group. In areas where one religion or denomination dominates, the sense of community and social support is very strong... unless you don't belong to the dominant group.
This isn't all that different from the way humans form social bonds and build communities, with the exception that religion tends to set the stakes very high, not only life or death but your eternal future is at risk. And that can make those social bonds detrimental and potentially dangerous.

Perhaps the 18 is a reference to 2018? That will become the new date when Christ's heavenly reign began, and that is the generation that Jesus's words in Matthew 24:34 apply to. No more need for overlapping generations!

LMsA: He has zero self awareness and people skills.
That is exactly what I was thinking when I saw his response. He is counting on people only reading the Twitter exchange and taking his word for it, but once they look into the issue he will look worse and worse. His approach is always to attack first and tear down his critic, without considering how things will look once more information is out (or, as in this case, is already accessible).
And it's funny to see him gripe so often about people hiding behind anonymity after he spent years doing so himself. I agree that he is using his personal name because he needed to build his brand and massage his own ego. But also, he hates that he cannot just doxx everyone who antagonizes him. So he tries to deflect and make bad arguments, as if people can't see through it. Especially the ones who might be thinking of joining his Patreon.

Thankfully, his ability to drum up harassment against those who dare to speak out against him is diminished these days. He probably won't even threaten to add you to the litigation.

30% sounds high, I am not sure how they determine what counts as a non-believer or non-religious person. I don't doubt that fewer people are religious than were in the 1990s, but I don't know if it's that high.
I live in the midwest now, and there are as many churches out here as there were in New York, which has a much higher population and population density. But I don't know how often people go to church. The area I'm in doesn't seem to be overtly religious. Maybe I just assume that most people are Christian because that was the USA I grew up in?

I noticed that, too. It's a good catch. I think he was trying to walk the same fine line the WTS does, where they want people to feel as if the end is imminent, but they do not want to commit to anything too specific, lest people lose patience. He wants people to feel as if they have to support him, or he will stop making videos. But he also wants to appear as a strong and determined individual who will overcome adversity.
But he doesn't know how to express himself very well, especially when he's manipulating people. It's how he has treated his wife, as well. He's neither as erudite nor as clever as he believes himself to be.

“This is my son the beloved. Listen to HIM,”
by Fisherman inthe apostles and early christians suffered and died resulting from listening to jesus and jesus said this would happen.. but is listening to jesus the same as direction from the gb based on interpretation of the bible, for example, in medical treatment or other directions?
a christian could expect death or injury resulting from listening to jesus but should this validate possible erroneous understanding of the bible?
we know that peter was executed because of his christianity and so was jesus by the way.

I think the issue is whether there is a reliable way to determine what the Bible is saying on these topics. If a person is convinced that the JW governing body (or the Pope, or any similar recognized leadership) is guided by the holy spirit, then whatever they choose as an interpretation is what god wants. But how to determine which of those (if any) is being guided by god?
There are debates going on in this forum right now about Christian teachings, and the people involved seem very smart and well-informed and also sincere about what they believe. But there is no consensus. If bright, honest, and devout people cannot come to an understanding on issues as important to them as the trinity, how can we ever determine who is being guided by god today?
