I recall him adamantly saying that he did not have to justify how he spent his earnings, in the same way that a doctor did not have to account for how he spent his salary. I think it's fair to say that he is witnessing (lol) what happens when a non-salaried-non-doctor tries to pull the wool over his subscriber's eyes. Are any of his die-hard supporters still telling people that it's no one's business what he does with his 'activism income'?

april 2023 is when he put out his "things are bad" tin cup begging video, and he got a small surge to 592 on the 13th of that month.
i'm also using his all-time peak of 897 from november 2022.. for march, we're gonna say a modest -15, putting him at 352. i'm also curious as to when he might hit 300 and then 200. if he keeps up with an average of -20 every month, he'll be at less than 190 before the end of this year.. happy guessing everyone..

I'm curious if they will ever try to face their past. Very little of what Russell taught is accepted today, and some of it sounds insane (using the dimensions of pyramids, or distances on a map, to set time frames). Rutherford did his best to top him, with his 1925 predictions and the 'millions now living will never die' campaign, among other things. The internet has made many of their writings available, and has allowed the dissemination of unflattering stories about them.
At what point does the past become an albatross that they can no longer ignore? And, if they are forced to come to terms with it, what can they do? Could they survive going mainstream?

there was a lot of discussion going on on this board for a few months.
now that all the leaks have been more or less confirmed as policy, and we've had lively discussions at length concerning the changes, things seem to have slowed down here.. a few suggestions have been raised as to what might be the next changes, such as women being allowed to wear slacks (in the usa, anyway), decoupling from 1914 as an anchoring date and others.. so, what changes do you think will be announced this year?.

That has always been their approach. They place themselves between Jehovah and everything else, including the Bible. This has been so even back in Russell's day, since he believed that Studies in the Scriptures was a better Bible than the Bible.
And it obviously went to their heads, because another thing that has carried over from Russell's times is that they just make stuff up and use their authority as the channel of god to force it on the rank and file. Blind, unquestioning obedience has been the most important part of the religion almost from the beginning.

to provide a bit of balance, i'll reminisce about the rampant prophecy speculation going on in mainstream christianity (i refuse to use the wt's pejorative term: "christendom", especially since by definition, they're part of that classification 🙄) in the 70s and 80s.
to be fair, the churches themselves had been around long enough to realise that end times interpretations are like arseholes, everybody has one.

I was referring to the jump from March to April of 2023. Graphtreon shows 387 patrons in March and 564 in April, an increase of 177 paying supporters. So, you could say that he has had a total of 897 + 177 = 1,074. His current count of 367 implies a total loss of 707 patrons. almost two-thirds of his supporters have decided they do not want to support him any longer.
Edit to add: just to be clear, I'm not advising that you update your chart. I'm just pointing out that the situation looks worse when we account for the increase he got in April. He's on track to post a loss of 20-40 patrons in a year's time, which wouldn't be good but wouldn't seem alarming. Then you realize that the number doesn't include the gain (and loss) of 177 additional people. That puts it in a different light.

Those seem like better approaches, as they protect the person following them. The "do unto others" leaves an individual at the mercy of those who do not follow the rule. The two you quoted can be summarized as "be considerate towards others." This is a more practical approach that allows a person to be 'good' while also not letting others take advantage of them unnecessarily.

I'm going to guess 346. He seems to steadily lose around 20 per month. I figured that those days were past and that the losses would be much more gradual, but he is still losing that many.
If he picks up the activity and engages with his patrons, he can probably slow the bleeding. But perhaps not, since one of the problems is that he is producing less exJW content and indicating that he wants to take the channel in a different direction. And we know how he will react if his supporters ask him to stay on topic. So the bleeding will continue.

The losses are even greater than that. He gained quite a lot of paying supporters after his first begging video (more than a hundred, if memory serves). If you add those to the 897 and 530 respectively, we may get a better sense of how bad it really has gotten.

a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.
