I think the GB would say that those were all "early JWs", in the sense that they served Jehovah faithfully or at least sought him out on their own. I do think it throws a wrench into the idea that only those who are baptized JWs have a hope for salvation.

Only baptised JWs will make it?
by ExBethelitenowPIMA ini think it was a john cedars video or someone else’s where the point was brought up that only baptised jws will be saved?
then one talk about kids of baptised jws hope they will make it but even them don’t know.
most jws probably think that some good people who are not baptised may make it through, but this is not official teaching?.

I don't think I ever had that impression. People who had shown interest and were studying with JWs would be expected to survive Armageddon and get a chance to earn salvation.
I wondered about the "only JWs" part because there were people out there who were good people, but they weren't JWs. Was Jehovah really going to wipe them out because they didn't answer the knock at the door?

Well, it turns out he was right about one thing: the Croatian court system has definitely slowed down.

Is AI going to change the world?
by Reasonfirst inhad lunch with a friend, whose a lecturer in the accounting dept.
of one of australia's best universities.
he told me he expects to lose his job at some point in the next 5 years, as the accounting dept, will disappear, as all accounting will be done by ai programs, so why teach it.. if his fears are correct, that means that any profession that involves the mind, may one day face the same future.

If most labor is going to be done by robots, humans won't have to work.
Except for the ones who design and build robots and program the AI.
...until they are replaced by robots.
I think this is how the Matrix was actually born...

I guess Mome Wraths was right- there are more important things than Lloyd's lawsuit to worry about.

Maybe he is not mentioning it in order to give the Croatian Commando Units time to ambush the defendants before they have a chance to hide. Lloyd's next video will be the "perp walk" as the magnificent seven are paraded into criminal court!
But --in the event that the impossible happened, and the case has been dismissed-- remember that Evans can still proceed with civil suits against the seven (or even the TWELVE) rapscallions who willfully and blatantly defamed his good and honorable name. He will need to start a gofundme, though, because paying for a Croatian Commando Unit on your own dime is QUITE expensive!

Why does a loving God need to settle moral issues with the Devil?

That's a thorny question for me. Can we survive if god allows us to have free will? In the Bible, we are told that god wishes for all to be saved, but we are also told that the path to salvation is long and narrow, and that few walk it. So god, who wishes for all to be saved, knows that very few will be saved. Isn't this a failure on his part?
The track record of free will is not encouraging. Apparently, every human being has sinned against god and at least a third of the angels, Satan included. Over a long enough time frame, the odds that everyone will cross god at some point are pretty even. Heaven will be a very lonely place.

Why didn't God create us to be obviously different?
by SydBarrett ina silly question since i'm an atheist but one i thought of as a kid jw.
why weren't human's created to be obviously different from animals?
among believers there is some sort of universal hierarchy.

Jan, JWs still reject evolution, though I don't know if they have produced any such literature recently. They've produced two or three books denying evolution in the past.
They used to also have this strange in-between approach to the age of the universe, insisting that each creative day was 7,000 years long. This meant that the universe wasn't 6,000 years old or 13.8 billion years old. It was around 42,000 years old. I think they dropped that teaching at some point, though.

I always thought humans were notably different in our level of self-awareness and intelligence. Even if we take evolution into account, humanity has succeeded in taking over every part of the planet that is capable of serving as habitation, and at least explored those parts that aren't. We're not much different biologically, but our ability to develop sophisticated means of communication and record-keeping has set us apart from pretty much all other life.

"I'm not ashamed of the photos, despite your apparent efforts to shame me with them during the zoom call with Susan."
Somehow, I'm not surprised that he is incapable of feeling shame at his own behavior.
