If JW is not the truth, then what is the true religion?

I don't believe that there is one, but that is in part because we've spent thousands of years trying to figure it out, and the best we can do is several major religions that are split into tens of thousands of denominations, many of which insist that they have the most truthy truth or the only truth. If billions of people over thousands of years can't figure it out, maybe there isn't a way to figure it out. Or, alternatively, there isn't one.

JW GoneBad: It actually takes a great deal of time & it can get expensive converting non-liquid assets into cash.
And also, when you are trying to liquidate assets to deal with a cash crunch, you will almost never get a good deal. You will be selling them at below-market values. You might even be forced to accept some pretty bad deals. It's a very inefficient way to raise capital.

After reinstatement, you are considered a member of the congregation again, and the brothers and sisters will greet you and talk to you again, and you can take part in meetings (giving answers, doing demonstrations, etc) and field service.
As for gossip, that depends on the people, not your situation.

Re: spacing-- the text box this site uses automatically inserts a line break when you hit the Enter key when typing a message. If you are used to hitting enter twice to create a line break, or if you compose your posts in a text editor which lacks this feature, you can end up with extra line breaks between paragraphs.
This happens to me if I compose a message in notepad and then paste it in. I end up having to remove the extra line breaks before I post the message.

Honestly, I'm surprised they put it online at all. So much of their early stuff is completely at odds with later teachings, much less current teaching. Are any of Russell's teachings/interpretations still kept today?
I would be really impressed if they ever published Studies in the Scriptures online. All versions/revisions.

Our decisions are always shaped, in some way, by what is described as a hierarchy of values (I'm not sure if I have the term right). I do agree that a ruling body is granted power by the consent or agreement of those who are governed.
(I also don't think it's anywhere near that simple, but for the general example, it will do.)
For an organization like the WTS, which demands unquestioning acceptance of the GB as the spirit-directed leadership of the rank-and-file on Earth, it's not unusual to see the kind of turnover they do; people who do ask questions will inevitably agree to suppress those thoughts, will leave, or will be removed. But for many, there are other considerations at play.
I know that my mother must feel some mixture of confusion and disappointment that the end hasn't yet arrived, after more than 55 years of expecting it to happen "soon." But she gave up a lot in order to remain a JW, and now she is in her mid-80s and those dreams she had are long since gone. And the only thing she has left is that promise of eternal life on Earth and a chance to finally live the life she thought she would already be living by now. It is the ultimate sunk cost. To give up now is to accept that she wasted her life, and I don't think she can face that.

I don't believe that he is addicted to porn or sex or anything. He uses "addiction" and "repression" as excuses for his behavior. He's a man in his 40s with a wife and children who has spent years exchanging sex chat on the internet and visiting prostitutes for paid sex. He's not an addict. He's an inconsiderate asshole.
He blames the WTS --the very organization whose rules forbade his actions-- for turning him into a helpless nymphomaniac. Remember, nothing is ever his fault. Just as he blames Kim for the scandal that is ruining him, and just as he blames his wife for refusing to understand his complex sexual and emotional needs, he blames "addiction" and "lack of penis mastery" for his selfish and inconsiderate behavior.
It's always someone else's fault.
