How Did Watchtower Sell the "Jonadab" Concept ?
by Sea Breeze insimply put; gullible people were told if they chose life on earth instead of heaven, they wouldn't have to die.
that's how they sold it.
the watchtower lied to people in the 1920 booklet and convention series titled "millions now living will never die!

WAR begins.
by lastmanstanding inthings are moving right along.
“israel” has gone to war with iran.. who is fooled?.
this is uncle sam, same as in ukraine.. daniel layed out clearly the events of “d day” june 6, 1944 as the “ships of kittim” would sail against the king of the north.

Same end result, too.
joey jojo: Trump is unhappy because Israel threw everything they had at Iran right up until the last minute, instead of pulling out like he asked them to.
Which he should have known would happen, and which he almost certainly was advised would be the case. Then again, I assume these same advisors constantly ask him not to post comments on X or Truth Social about these deals and agreements before the dust has settled. They're probably used to being ignored, but it must be frustrating nonetheless.

Time of the end - a TRINITY puzzler.
by BoogerMan in(matthew 24:36) “concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the son, but only the father.".
(jesus seems to have forgotten to include the holy spirit not knowing either).
(acts 1:7) "he said to them: “it does not belong to you to know the times or seasons that the father has placed in his own jurisdiction.".

Maybe Jesus and/or Jehovah don't care if you believe that He is/are one, or two, or three, or three-as-one. Maybe, if it was important, He would have made it perfectly clear instead of making claims that can easily be interpreted either way. Maybe He wishes he had paid extra for an editor, and humanity would've avoided thousands of years of confusion and bloodshed over countless differing interpretations that have split Christianity into (often violently opposed) fragments.

Armageddon 50th Anniversary
by apostrate inwell, it's been 50 years since armageddon occurred.. seems to me that things haven't really changed all that much.
is it just me or does anyone else seem to think that things have actually got worse??

Point this out to a JW, and they will probably tell you that Jehovah is patient and that one thousand years is like a day to him, and a day is like one thousand years.
Then, ask them if "very soon now" means 50 years. Or one thousand. Or anything at all.
Ask them: if the end might not be for another thousand years, why the urgency?
You probably will not get them to understand the problem with saying "very soon now" for a hundred years. At least not right away. Maybe they will understand it... very soon now.

BOOK STUDY OR BIBLE STUDY?
by blondie in*** km 9/76 p. 8 question box ***.
might a discussion using the bible alone be reported as a study?
(…) but at times persons are unwilling to use any literature other than the bible.

The WTS has always made it clear that only the GB can interpret scripture. JWs are encouraged to read the Bible, not to study it. At least, not without the WTS publications on hand, so they get the 'correct' interpretation.

Journeyman: if you don't want to set yourself up for a lot of mess in the longer term.
Sadly, we're at least ~120 years too late for that. The west has been meddling in the Mideast for more than a century, and the bad feelings run very deep. Many of the religious theocracies in the Mideast would happily do massive damage to the nations of the west if they had the resources to do so, and if they didn't realize that the retaliation would be overwhelming.
But the situation is what it is, and a nuclear Iran is a catastrophe waiting to happen. I agree that the President shouldn't be able to authorize strikes like this, but that is another ship that has long since sailed (and, while it is theoretically possible to fix this, there is no political will to do so here). My hope is that it ends without a larger conflict forming in the short term. The Ayatollah's government made enough enemies of its neighbors that I don't think anyone will be willing to stick their necks out for Iran.

The Coming Global Salvation - (Not Universalism)
by Sea Breeze inthe overwhelming majority of the early church leaders (fathers) were premillennial and believed in a literal 1000 yr. kingdom.
today, 2/3 of christians are amillennial.
i do not want to imply that amilennialists, are not christian.

I think the biggest problem the WTS has with the separation of people into heavenly/earthly 'classes' is that there is no way to determine who has received the heavenly calling aside from "trust me." The issue became quite clear as the number of participants first stabilized, then started to increase. Today, it is more than 20,000. They may try to dismiss it as mental illness, but that means that a very large number of mentally sick people are partaking of the wine and crackers each year. The other option is that there is a large number of JWs who are deliberately partaking when they know they are not among the chosen. That's not a good look.

LMsA: If I were Iran I’d be running to Trump right now and begging for a deal.
It looks like they've been doing that almost from the beginning. Trump has made the terms pretty clear: abandon all nuke development. I think he is also inclined to let Israel do whatever it can to help overthrow the Iranian government. The pressing question remains whether the US will take any direct action, and what that will lead to.
As for Israel, they must see this as a very rare --and perhaps their only-- opportunity to reshape the Mideast more to their liking. Trump hasn't just given them the green light to act, he's moving ships and planes to the area and making loud noises on social media. I figure he is doing this to warn off anyone else from interfering until Israel gets what it wants.

Know it’s not true but stay anyway
by Elena inhow many of the millions of jws know it’s not true but stay anyway?.
my guess is most jws know it’s not true on a subconscious level to an extent but they don’t want to think about it too much and would never ever voice it out loud.. but this is probably true with all religions around the world?.

Elena: What if you decide not to do any heavy lifting?
If you decide to stay in because you don't want to deal with the fallout from admitting that you do not believe, then do what you must. But don't call it agnostic. You're not staying in because you're not sure who has the truth. You're staying in because the organization has put you in a difficult spot, which is the way they operate. It isn't because you're not sure you believe. It's because you fear the consequences of leaving.
